DO NOT SAND THEM!!!! I sanded the center section and it came out like crap, dull and with visible scratches. I didn't sand the side sections and they look perfect, very shinny and the finish has stayed on through rain, snow, and road salt.

you did it wrong then. U are supposed to use ssome 1000-1200 grit paper after getting the gloss off to really smooth it up. and if it were me i would have done about 6 coats of base and 4 of clear coat.

Hey guys I drive a Blk 02 SC2 and I found the best way to blackout or colour your lights. I had just my reflector change to black the same as the car. It cost only about $50 Can. and could be done for any colour. I went to a store "Auto Graphics" customizing in auto-graphic, go figure! I had them colour code a vinyl across my entire reflector it looks mint and can be easily undone. If you want to see any photos drop me an email.

I STILL don't see the point if it comes out just fine not sanding......

FYI I also did the side markers without sanding and it looks good and has stayed on just fine.

ANYTHING WITH PAINT, anything is always the prep..ya it may be fine now..but how much longer....just sand the dang tails down VERY LIGHTLY with HIGH grit paper...and itll turn out better and hold up better trust me
