Default outlook billet grill install HowTo

Outlook billet grill installation,

First start with removing the push clip located on the radiator support

After removing the plastic piece set it aside

Next you will have to remove a 7mm screw” yellow arrow” on each side of the stock grill, as well as drill out the rivet “red arrow”

Before you start removing the grill there’re 2 7mm screws holding the grill to the front facia from behind “yellow circles” you can pull the grill out far enough to reach them. It you do not remove the screws you WILL beak the grill.

After taking the screws out you are ready to remove the grill this is a very frustrating job, you will have to pull hard but not to hard. I have found it easy to start on a corner and take a screw driver and lightly pry on the grill till it starts to pop out and just simply work all of the clips holding the grill in loose.

Congratulations you now have a big gaping hole in the front of your new car.

Take the 2 small l shaped brackets and install the screw clips provided in the install kit.. Then insert them in to the 2 old grill holes.

As you can see the long part is towards the radiator, then just sit in the grill, and screw in the lower screws into the brackets.

Make sure that the grill is straight before tightening. Then use the existing screw holes to mount the top brackets.

Then again make sure grill is lined up with the bodylines. Tighter and replace the plastic cover you removed earlier, and you’re done…

If you want a black emblem for the front I have the fix for that as well.

I use a 2007 vue emblem for this due to it is the biggest one they make.
If you want a black emblem

I advise doing this step be for installing the grill to the car…

Start with the emblem

Turn it over and pull the protective plastic piece exposing the adhesive

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...92/jket6-1.jpg

Cut a small line down ether sides of the adhesive and you will see the plastic holding the emblem together

Next you will need to cut the melted plastic on the emblem in order to release it from the red part.

Then lightly scuff the surface with sand paper, and clean, I use a 2 stem process, for mine. I use black primer “2 coats” and then semi gloss “3 coats”

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d3...92/bgdshsd.jpg

Then cut the 2 out sticking tabs on the chrome part of the emblem just reassemble and put a little bit of super glue on the edges where you cut before.

Installation.

Now take the emblem and put it as centered as you can, or where ever you want it to go. Na lightly push so that the adhesive backing sticks lightly.

Turn it over, and put hot glue where ever the emblem is touching the grill, to help adhere it to the grill

And let it dry for about 20min and install grill.
