Problems with a 2002 saturn sl2

My car has been doing this hesitation for awhile. It drops to about 300-400 rpms. Only from a dead stop or when RPMS are low in while in gear. With a swift tap of the pedal it would run like normal again. So one day I am driving it then it decides to completely stop running and will turn over but wont start. When the car died it did the same bog down/hesitation. I got spark. I put in a new crank pos sensor. Then I cranked the engine for awhile and smelled the dipstick. No gas smell or rise in oil level and i cranked it for quite awhile. The fuel pump spools up when i put it to the run position.. So does anyone think a sensor could be stopping the injectors from working. Or is it as I am assuming its the fuel filter. Just want some feedback before I blindly change parts. I'm doing it in a parking lot at my apartment and its freezing out.

Not sure why you would replace the crank position sensor if you have spark. If you have spark then you have a good crank sensor.

With good spark you need to check other things. You are getting spark to the end of the plug wires?
See if you have fuel pressure.
Check for power to the injectors. If you have a noid light check to see if you have injector pulse. If no pulse or power check the injector fuse.
Try cracking the throttle open a bit to see if that makes any difference in starting.

CPS is fine if you have spark.

Id clean your throttle body making sure all your IAC passages are clear and move on from there

All the passages are clear and the tb and manifold are spotless, but still no fire. I guess im going to spend 90 on a fuel filter and hope its not a waste unless someone else has any other ideas.
