Default Bad Spoilers/Wings

I don't know who else feels this way but many people seem to put these things on their cars thinking "O that is going to look so cool" and it just totally blows. Am I the only one thinking that you really need to pay attention to what you put on your car before you actually do it?

Are there any good ones anymore? I cant really get a race/sporty car since I need a family one, but the thought still crosses my mind.

Default Some people don't think ahead...

I think a lot of people start modifying just for the sake of modifying instead of having an image in their minds of what the results will be. Instead of having a picture of what they want the car to end up looking like and then adding what they need to make it happen, they just start modifying here and there. Like in anything else in life, if you don't make and follow a plan, you may not like where you end up.

Thumbs down Bad Wings

Call me old fasion, well I am 31, but I like when a spoiler matchs the lines of the car it's on, or at least some what. I like the factory spoiler on the Redlines ( when it's on a coupe ), but thats about as wild as my tastes get. There a lot of kids running around with that two foot aluminum erector set wing up here ( NY ), words can't express how I think that looks. Funny how it's usually on some thrashed out rust bucket, with the exhaust running off the cat. I don't mean to offend that crowd, but come on, how can you think that looks cool? I personally would spend a little less on aluminum, and a little more on the car to start with. I had thought several times about putting something on my ion sedan, but I don't like the factory one, and I can't find an aftermarket that's to my taste. So in the end, I stuck with spoiler delete.

ya i totally agree. People tell me, oh you need to get a body kit. i don't want a body kit, maby a lip kit to add on the stock kit, but thats it. i like a mid/low profile spoiler like the such on a new celica GTs (i think its the GTS) somethin like that. As long as you have that image in your head i would stick with it.

I don't thing the large wings look right on all cars. Some they look really good on and some they just look all wrong on. You also have to consider if it is going to be just for looks or if you need something functional. If you are going for function then yes, a taller wing is needed to get up into the airflow coming off the back window and it also has to have a real airfoil.
