Default My 1999 SL2 is DEAD!!!

I was wondering if there is a better engine that I could drop into my 1999 Saturn SL2? The engine is blown and needs a new one. It had the 1.9l DOHC 16v twin cam in it. I was wondering if there is any way of dropping in the Supercharged engine out of the newer Ions, or would i have to stick with what was in there? right now price is not that big of an issue because of a settlement that i have coming in and the fact that my father-in-law is a mechanic and can help me with all the work. I just need to know what i can use as far as an engine. Thanks for all of your help!

And sorry if this is a repeat question. I know what it is like to have some noob asking a question that has been asked a hundred times from my other forum that i go to. But please work with me on this one.

Welcome to the Board.

Unless you are willing to spend alot of money---A LOT---you will want to replace the engine with another DOHC.

get another DOHC engine from '99. Any engine will work with enough work and modification, but its really not worth it.
