Default Radio Wire Harness Color Chart (GM)

Hey all,

I know when I was installing my aftermarket stereo system in my 2004 ION II QC, I looked all over this forum for the Radio Wire Harness Color Chart, and could not find it, also searched the internet high and low, turning up nothing. So I thought I would make this post to help everyone else that may be seeking this information.

GM Factory Radio Wire Harness 1989-Current (As of 2005, Could change in the future):

Pin ---- What It Is -------------- In Dash Wire Color
A -- Left Front Spkr (-) ------------- Light Gray
B -- Left Front Spkr (+) ------------ Tan
C -- Right Front Spkr (-) ----------- Light Green
D -- Right Front Spkr (+) ---------- Dark Green
E -- Ground Wire-------------------- Black
F -- Not Used
G -- Headlight Dimmer Wire ------- Gray
H -- Power Antenna Turn On ------- Pink
I -- +12 Volt Ignition Wire ---------- Yellow
J -- +12 Volt Battery Wire ---------- Orange
K -- Right Rear Spkr (-) ------------ Light Blue

L -- Right Rear Spkr (+) ------------ Dark Blue
M -- Left Rear Spkr (-) -------------- Yellow
N -- Left Rear Spkr (+) ------------- Brown

(Sorry for the bad formating)

Hope this helps...

-TheChad

Not to be a nag but it states the year as 1889 instead of 1989...

don't mock the 1889 saturn's! Those were the best! The design was so ahead of it's time that they used the exact same design in 1989.

Hey this is my first response so Hi everyone. But I was really wanting to reply to the wireharness. I just installed subs and an amp to the factory stereo for whatever reason I dont' know why I didn't get an aftermarket stereo, but having this helped so thanks a bunch. However, on the 05 Ion 2 QC, the pins are numbered, not alphabetical, so I think the location may have changed but the colors still match. It's a good tool to have when you have no idea what is what!

I have a Haynes Car Manual that has the wireing diagram in it. Would it be against the copyright to scan it and post it on here?

Probably, but do it anyways. Nobody is going to tell. At least I won't.

Hey, can a mod take this link and post it at the top: http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/GM-Wiring.pdf

It not only tells what the wires coming from the dash mean (that is what TheChad has posted) but also what the wires coming from newer CD players mean. And it has nice pictures to help.
