Default '93 Sc1 vs. 300ex 4 wheeler?

Ok, a friend of mine wants me to race him on a 300 ex four wheeler on the street. Yeah, I know it sounds like a stupid race. But say from a 20 MPH roll do you guys think I could take him?

i dont know **** abouyt 4 wheelers but im gunna say yeah. just figure out what its power to weight ratio is. Because if his ratio is higher some where along the line he will beat you. But single those SOHC motors have some kick to em. My freind is always trieing to race me in his aginst my DOCH he neve wins but he gives me a good run......i shouldnt have ever told him his optimal shift points.

I don't know.

4 wheelers are very light and quick. You've got the slowest engine ever put in a saturn (doesn't mean it can't be made to go fast).

Some thoughts to consider

I guess it all depends on what type of race it would be too. If yer talking about a quarter mile stretch, then it would depend on which one has the higher top end. I've ridden a few 4 wheelers in my time, but I really don't know that much about them.

OK, I raced him the other night in my '92 SC DOHC 5-speed. We lined up and had another guy turn his headlights on for us to go. Berfore he turned his lights on the 4 wheeler quit running, so I let off building the RPM's. Berfore I knew it he turned his lights on and he was gone, I wasn't even ready. So, he is out about 2 1/2 car lengts ahead and I take off. I shifted into 2nd at 6500 then I start pulling hard shifted into 3rd at 6500 RPMs. I miss third and put it in neutral were side by side at half track, put it in third and I whooped him real bad. We raced an 1/8 mile stretch and he said it topped out around 60 some MPH. I know I can hit that easily in my Sc1 on the steeet. I'm thinking go from a 20 MPH roll, that's where I seem to get the best power from a roll.
