I don't know 100%, but I would say no. That sure looks like something coming from a virus or spyware to me. If you have anti-virus software, I'd start by going to the official windows update webpage & updating everything you can. Otherwise, make sure you have totally updated anti-virus software.

Does anything else happen, or is it just the messages? Any locking up, closing windows, etc?

the messages pop up every now and then. My windows messenger won't work. Keeps saying i have to download the update in order for it to work, and when i do, nothing happens. It just won't open and let me log into msn messenger. I haveupdated my antivirus and I'm running it right now. I'm about to reinstall my ad ware program and see if that helps. My pc did shut down one time today by itself.

I went to those websites and you have to buy their programs. Thats exactly what I thought was going to happen. So I closed the programs. I keep trying to download windows updates but the microsoft website sux.

Yesterday, right after I ordered my new seats the pc froze, internet explorer would open but would not go to any websites. I burned everything to cds and restore the pc to its original facgtory condition. I end up having to do this about once a yr b/c the pc gets really jacked up.

Try running some spyware removal software on it (such as AdAware you were talking about).

Also, make sure those CD's you burned are clean and don't have any sort of virus or spyware on them before restoring your computer.

Another thing, do you keep your OS updated? Example, you're running XP with SP2?

Also, try more than one type of anti-spyware software. I like microsoft's and spybot search & destroy.

I'm almost 100% thats spyware.

Here are some links to remove them for free.

Are you using internet explorer?

If so try this first..

http://files4.majorgeeks.com/files/2...hijackthis.zip

Then also try this program..

http://users.skynet.be/spybot/spybotsd13.exe

And for anyone else, if your tired of spyware use mozilla firefox, i have been using it for a couple years and have not once recived any spyware.

Here's the download link...

if you still have the problem i know what you have. the first 2 pop-ups are from windows they have an internal messiging system that is used for the boss of a company to message all of the workers to say like they are shutting the systems down. this is how you do it.

Click on Start and select Run. Type services.msc and press OK. Now double-click on the Messenger service and under startup type select disabled. Disabled prevents Messenger from loading automatically the next time Windows starts up.

hope it helps

I don't know if you copied that and paisted but corrumpted doesn't sound like a windows thing atleast microstoft spell checks "Your windows registry is corrumpted." my advice is deactivate the widows messaging client like 93 saturn sl2 said and then get some anti-virus like symantic and for anti-spyware go to downloads.com and search for AdAware and spy bot they both have there advantages. spy bot has a little program that runs and lets you know every time something wants to edit your registry. so good luck man and if that doesn't work there is alway formating.
