Default Break-ins

Now it's startin to get outta hand. A few months ago, my drivers side window was smashed......nothing was stolen. Ok, no big deal, yeah it sucked, but all my stuff was still there. I can get over that. Just replace the window and go about my business. Last tuesday, my passenger window was smashed. Ok, now i'm startin to get pissed. They rummaged through my ****, broke the "frame" around the head unit, but still didn't get anything. That's 2 windows now i had to replace. Those ain't cheap. Last night......my neighbor's VW got broken into. This time they really did some damage. Ripped the convertable top, smashed the drivers side window, stole the head unit, stole his wallet, broke the hatch lock.......WTF??? It's gettin a little old now. I'm seriously considering sittin up now at night on my back porch with a shotgun.

Sheesh Mike-that's horrible. The area you live in doesn't seem to be that "crime ridden" to have all that stuff happens. Ugh! Slashing the convertible top>I hope insurance will cover that. Good luck with everything. I'm guessing alarms aren't going to help these guys if they've broken into people's cars this many times already.

Do you have a video camera? I know it won't help having your car broken into 1 more time, but at least you might be able to catch whoever is doing it on film. The other option I heard someone doing was buying one of those motion sensor lights. He didn't install the bulbs, and the then wired it to an light in his room. When the light came on he caught the one of the guys in the act while the other ran. Held the guy at gun point until the cops came.

The only downfall to this plan is if you have a lot of animals in the area you might get awaken during a false alarm.

Not too many dogs around fortunately, but it's startin to get old. I could hold someone at gun point, legally, but if i don't have to point a gun at someone, i'd rather not.

i would get a security camera...we sell em at my store for 29.99 small, compact, night vision, and microphone built in. I'm gonna get two as soon as i get some extra cash. Other than that, I still say get an alarm and put it inside the car.

I can't remote link it, but go to http://www.harborfreight.com and on the left where it says find item number, enter 47546

That is the model we carry in my store. There were a couple of othe results on the website though. To find those, just enter camera in "find by keyword"

LOL, much appreciated, but i got a nice collection of hand guns and rifles and shotguns and swords and knives and explosives. I don't really keep any of my guns around though.
