Default guess what this is.

Spd Time Dist.
0 0 0
10 0.9 5.3
20 1.5 18.2
30 2.0 39.1
40 2.6 68.6
50 3.4 120.9
60 4.0 164.9
70 4.5 216.0
80 5.0 277.2
90 5.9 390.3
100 6.7 494.5
100 6.9 522.8
90 7.3 584.9
80 7.7 631.5
70 8.1 673.6
60 8.5 711.5
50 8.9 748.7
40 9.4 776.3
30 9.8 797.2
20 10.2 813.3
10 10.7 824.3
0 11.5 828.4

The nature of this record means the car will have to accelerate from 0-100mph, then back down to nought again, in less than 12.4 seconds

this car did it in 11.5sec.

The McLaren is the only street legal car ever to beat the 0 to 100 to 0 record set by the 427 Cobra in the 60's. I'd say Shelby got it pretty much right. Kind of amazing when you consider the braking technology available at the time.

to put it in perspective a stock saturn dohc goes 0-60 in like 9.? sec.
but it does say alot for the 60's. then again it was pre-regulation on exhaust and then unleaded gasoline.

Don't forget as well that the Cobra was a very lightweight car, based on the British AC Ace. The ace was available with one of those infamously wheezy English 4 bangers in it, so it had to be light. Carrol Shelby comes along and stuffs a big ass V8 in there, and history is made. Gotta love it!

Pre-emissions standards notwithstanding, it was just a super light, super powerful car with a good suspension setup and everything in the right place. Well, that and it was essentially a barely street legal race car.

See that's all you would need for the ultimate set of cars........the McLaren F1 and the Cobra. If u ask me, Carol Shelby was a complete genious for designing that car.
