Jsut got the ok from my mom that she'll buy a cool air intake for my car and pay to install it. What type should i buy?? Got to remember that she is paying for it so the cheaper the better in her case, but i still need a good intake system

Do you have an automatic or manual tranny. If you have a manual you could try to swing the AEM but it's 260 bucks for the parts alone. Otherwise I'd say the ceramic coated hotshot intake from SPS along with the mounting bracket for it.

Don't pay for installation. It will tak you a total of 30 minutes (being a newbie), a screw driver, and a socket set. Maybe then you can swing the AEM. I have the Injen intake and think it was a nice set-up for about $140.

so its pretty easy to do by yourself?? Is there any place that tells you how to do it?? I have an automatic transmission. How much does the SPS intake cost?? Is it a good product??

I thought the SPS was nice on my SL2 though afterwards I would have rather had the AEM. Since you have an auto you can't get that though. If you get the SPS one get the ceramic coated one for heat resistance. Mine was the plain chrome one and used to get very hot. Installation is very easy, the old hose connects with a clip which is a pain in the ass to get off to the throttle body. Then you pull the cover and the hose out of the engine bay, remove your air filter from the box, unbolt the factory airbox by removing the bolts in the bottom and then remove the plastic "rivet" holding the baffle assembly to the middle of the radiator frame and pull that out as well. Then if you're using the SPS intake you slide the throttle body end over the throttle body and tighten the band clamp. You definitely want the SPS mounting bracket too though. The most time consuming thing is aligning everything and making sure it's not only on straight but not rubbing anything. Actually you know what? I just looked and I think I'd recommend the AEM Short Ram over the SPS one. It's cheaper and it's powder coated to resist heat and comes with a built in mounting bracket. Anyway, installation will probably be similar but probably with less adjusting.

You can get the AEM short ram intake at Nopi for about $138 and here's a link for installing an air intake.
