Well its a 93 DOHC So its an OBD1 Your car is an OBD2 Honestly I dont know how that would come intoplay with the PCM, But it will bolt right onto your block

| It wouldn't be a matter of PCM so much as actual fitment. If everything lines up, go for it.

| Everything will line up but you might run into the problem of the Vacume style EGR valve vs. the linear style that is currently on your 96, also the 93 has 2 temp sensors on it but that it a matter of just getting an old one to plug the extra hole. As far as the PCM is concerned, just use your intake manifold and injectors, everything else should be fine. Come to think of it you might be able to change over to the vacume style EGR easier than changing from the vacume to linear.

| So what all would be involved in changing from linear to vacume or viseversa? What all would I have to change? Would this be something hard to do? I have found a ported & polished 93 Head with 7,000 miles on it for $350.00 and I was going to buy it if it wouldn't be a big problem getting it to work.
So it will match up correctly? What all would I need to purchase to change the style EGR? Which is better? But if you change what kind of EGR would you have to do anything to the PCM for it to recoginize that it is different?
I have to rebuild the engine anyways but this is a hell of a deal on a ported and polished head. I think?
Can anyone that has had it done tell me about what it cost to have it done? Could I just take my current head and have it done cheaper or what?

| As far as changing the EGR valve style over from linear to vacume, I think that it will involve a TB change, the addition of a EGR solinoid, the nessesary vacume lines(hence the TB change), and from what I understand saturn make a subharness to swap from linear to vacume but not vice versa.
You might want to take your head to a couple of machine shops and get estimates, you should be able to get yours done either cheaper or for about the same. Also, what it is at the machine shop get it magnafluxed to see if there are any cracks in it.

| ahh this is pretty simple, like brandon said, youll have one temp sensor hole, you can run the fan to come on with the key, which will keep the car at perfect 1/4 guage all the time, its an electirc fan so theres no undue stress on the engine, or you can drill and tap the other hole and put the second sensor in, i personally prefer to wire the fan as i hate when early saturns run up at 3/4 gauge, no comfort zone ya know.
ok, do you have emmisions in your state? if not simply PLUG THE EGR HOLE WITH A FREEZE OUT PLUG! simple! if you feel you must have the egr, then have a machine shop make you a plate to put your vacuum one on, the linear egr to add would be complex. if no emmsions, plug it off. if you have emmsions, a plate should only cost about 30-50 bucks, saturn makes a adpator but its to put linear egr on the old style engines, not vice versa like your talking about
other then that, everythings identical, bolt pattern, your intake will bolt right on etc.
who has this ported head for 300.00, get some digi pics and post them cause theres A BIG difference in between a true port job or one some hack did with a dremel in his garage, to leanr how to truly port and polish takes YEARS of expereince, not, hey i bought my first dremle kit and smoothed out the ports a little! get some pics of the port work, companre them to the pics of the turbo and non turbo heads on my accesories page, thats how a ported head should look....

| aww hell, i read it BACKWARDS, ok heres all you need
saturn part # 21006753
that part alone is going to allow you to bolt your linear egr RIGHT ON THE 93 HEAD. then you simply PLUG the extra sensor hole
its that simple. the part from saturn will cost about 60 bucks most dealers will have no clue what the hell its is cause it was for the cali cars to get linear egr, this swaps so simply its a matter of plugging the extra sensor hole and getting that adaptor. your done man....

| the person selling it is K Diddy. on Saturn Speed. He had it done at a shop 7,000 miles ago? So all I will need to do..is buy that part you said and then just plug the extra sensor hole? Right? What is the extra sensor hole for? Can it be used for anything else or not?
Let me know.
Cause it is starting to look like I will get this thing.
