Default How many times??

How many times do you have to take you car to a body shop to start getting a discount?? My Satty got backed into last night and it busted up the front passenger fender and front bumper cover. To top it off I still have not gotten my car into the shop to get the lock and paint fixed from where it got broken into. My guy at the body shop was talkin to me about replacing the drivers side door skin from the break in but I told him that if it was not nessarasy don't do it because of the vinyl flames that I have on it. Now that the front passenger fender and bumpercover have to be replaced I am going to tell him to go ahead and do it. That way I will get reimbursed for the vinyl. Now, I gotta get an estimate and find out who in the hell did it so that my insurance does not go up becuse of the # of claims.

My family does a lot of business with a place near me, Maurati. First time I went there, they gave me back half of my 500$ deposit for the body work. They also repainted my hood for free after the guy at Monroe had a lil ****up and didnt put a part on my strut so it came up and dented my hood.

**** that,YOU handle it, you put togehter an estimate using ne wparts prices, get paid for it, then YOU have everyu right to buy used parts from me and choose whichever shop you want, allthough common its illegal for insurance companys to even try and steer you into their 'pro shops" yes they do it blatantly, even telling people they have to, totally illegal

speaking of that when i wrecked my car back in february. the adjuster asked if we wanted to take it to one of their "certified shops" because then if anything was wrong with it afterwards they had to fix it free of charge....obviously I DIDN'T go with them. TOO DAMN expensive. I had where my mom works do it and I ended up SAVING a GREAT DEAL, because of it

The body shop will not turn in this estimate to my insurance unless I goto my insurance and pay the deducable for a comprehensive claim. Which is what I did for the break in.

I am going to get the estimate for it, find out who back in to me, and give it to their insurance company not mine.

I like the shop that I use, they do excelent paint and body work. Around here they have an excellent reputation for quality work. Any ****-ups on their part they fix.

I just don't want to have to take it to my insurance and pay the deductable, just because I can't prove who did it. No paint was swapped because of the bra and the person responsible was in an SUV. It was someone from my brother's fiancee's family. My parents were driving my mom's car and it was parked right across the street from mine.

you only have one choice for a body shop. By LAW insurance companies have to produce a list of certified shops whether it be for paint, glass repair or body. There has to be more than one choice, and for them to want the money before an estimate is pure BS, go back and tell them that if they refuse to give an estimate before recieving the deductable you'll just have to get the Better Business Bureau involved. Also give your insurance company a call and tell them that you are not going to deal with this particular shop and request that you be given a few other choices.

Brandon, sorry to hear about your car! That really sucks; especially when it's extended family....

I got great news! I found out who it was and they said that they tought that they had just bumped the curb. So, they drove off. When my brother called and talked to them for me yesterday they said "OH that's what we hit." They agreed to pay for all of the damages, which is very cool of them. I gotta go and talk to their insurance today. The estimate that I got from my shop yesterday is for $1500 worth of damage. Paint repair and all.
