Default If you dont have an AEM, GET ONE!!!

FIRST OFF, omg!

This thing is amazing, I feel stupid for not getting it on my 94 SL1. But the difference vs. warm air is incredible. Granted I had the Injen wai, on my saturn with only 85 hp, and I put an AEM on my 127hp civic. But still, what a plus. The sound is smoother and really kicks in at 3500 where the car kicks ass and launches. Below that there is a tiny bit of lag but still good power and the AEM leaves a nice smooth powerband across the line. It is relatively quiet but noticeable during regular driving, but once you punch it, it comes to life. At idle there is a nice little hiss from under the hood from the air being sucked in.

Install took 2 hours, due to the need of a torque wrench and two trips to autozone for deep socket 27mm and other parts. Turns out for my car AEM included a new mounting plate for the clutch cable and ground wire which mounts to the tranny. So I had to remove a tranny bolt and torque it back down. I wasnt going to **** with the quarter turn stuff on that one, and all is well. I unplugged the battery for the whole time, once started again I let it run at idle for about 10min., no SES light and all is well. The car loves it and I cant wait for the header and full exhaust (not till next year)

I am still debating on getting the bypass for the winter. On my civic it required no cutting and sat right behind the front bumper just below the headlamp, so it is entirely raised at the tranny height and sits high enough where water would not be a problem unless I drove in like 2 feet of water. But performance increase is def. noticeable and the sound of the AEM is very distinct. Such a good purchase and glad I spent that cash!

Parking garages are killer with a CIA and a muffler.

Ditto, when SPOC OH met in columbus and went cruising through parking garages, I think we set off most every car alarm in the place

Not really. I've got my exhaust hollowed out from the header to the tip at 2.25" with an intake and some other crap, and I set off every single car alarm in there. At least in New Haven it is awful, cause every other car has an alarm, and if you've just set off a garage full of car alarms and then have to walk through it, it is quite painful.

I had to laugh about the bridges comment, I always punch my throttle going through underpasses with the AEM, makes me happy, especially if someone else is driving towards me with their window's down, ****ing riot watching their head's spin around.
