Default Injen Intake

My buddy in his Nissan Sentra just got a huge new cold air intake. I'm used to seeing the smaller ones, but this one is long and huge. What's the difference between the short one's and the long ones? But he bought it at the Nissan dealership and they installed it too. I didn't know they ordered performance parts and did that kind of stuff. I'm going to see if it's going to void my Saturn warranty. You think it's compatible on the SC1? He's getting way better gas mileage too and it sounds so cool when he revs his engine. You can totally hear it sucking, its crazy. So yeah, what kind of intake is this? Why is it so big and is it compatible?

I'm assuming that you are referring to a true cold air intake. A true CAI draws cooler air from outside of the engine compartment (cooler air is more dense, allowing for more power). It also avoids "heat-soak" which happens with the short-ram intakes that leave the filter in the engine compartment. Heat-soak causes your car bogs after sitting at a light because it is sucking in hot air.

Yeah it looked so clean and shiny and just sweet. You think it would be compatible on our cars? 1.9L SC1 anyway.

i think the only manufacturer of true CAI is AEM. AEM CAI are pretty expensive like $300 and its only for manual cars bc on an auto the trans filter is in the way
