| Inside Info on Saturn's Future ok as some of you know on Labor Day, Brenda, glenn and I went to 3 dealerships. Dave Smith, manager of Saturn of Harrisburg gave us some info on what's to come with saturn.
First of all. Ecotechs are here to stay. In the future all 6cyl vehicles from saturn will have the honda motor. They are going with this motor because of the dependibility and they are currently not 100% satisfied with the 6cyl. they're using now. it will not be marketed as a Honda motor and will not say it is a honda motor. Some of you might be disappointed in this, but hey our ecotechs are Saab motors.
Second of all. Saturn will be producing a 6 cyl. coupe.
Thirdly. the SKY is still only a concept and is not going to be made, however some people in corporate would like to see it made. The sky is the only concept car by saturn never to be made, so there is a possibility for it to be made, but for now it's only a concept.
Fourth of all. Saturn is looking to bring out a SUV/Minivan in the future. This would be made before the SKY would if it's made.
If I can think of anything else that Dave had mentioned I will post it here. |

| I'm not totally against the Honda 6cyl motor, only because I do know of it's reliability and it's power, and to see it go into a coupe, as long as it's not a quad coupe, it should be a true 2-door coupe.....something along the lines of the SCX, I think it would be a great idea. As far as the Sky.....I think they should go for it. It would put Saturn up into the rankings with the BMW Z3 roadster, and the Honda S2000, which we desperately need. As far as the mini-van......check this out.....I found it a while back on supercars.net as a concept for the year 2000. http://www.supercars.net/cars/2000@$...0Conceptg.html

| yep that's the pics of the minivan. well saturn is looking at the sky and minivan like this...."which would we be able to sell easier and more of?" and well the minivan would and it would throw the company into a whole new league of buyers, not just the younger buyers. which you can't really blame them, but it would definently be nice to see the sky made. They should make the sky in a limited production, to see how well it would sell. |

| ok this is what I've read in some article about saturns, caviliers and sunfires.....supposedly, GM is dropping the cavilier in the near future and the ION will take over. the Sunfire however is suppose to go it's own way or something like that. I read on another forum that, well the one Yobo posted, that someone said the ION's have a cavilier engine, that's not true...all new 4 cyl GM cars/suvs and what not have a SAAB engine in them.
speaking of the ecotech engine.... Dave from Saturn of Harrisburg also informed me that in the VERY near future a supercharger will be out for the ecotechs....this supercharger is suppose to be extremely easy to install and it's pretty much just "bolt" it right on and go.
I'd also like to add this....I'm not extremely fond of the ION..but hey I'm gonna give it a chance, I won't be quick to say I'll never buy another saturn again, cause frankly if and when Saturn brings out the V6 coupe I'd prolly be ALL OVER IT. I think we are so quick to put GM down, but frankly none of us have to make the descisions they do. I think we all need to remember this though. GM has to keep in mind ALL OF IT'S CUSTOMERS, not just the young ones. GM is working on trying to cut down quantity and work on quality.

| ok something else I just thought and pardon me, I honestly do not mean to get on anyone's bad side with this comment but I think it's very true.
If your one who is ready to give on saturn (referring to the post on saturnspeed) then think real LONG and HARD about considering yourself a TRUE saturn enthusiast. Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk.
again sorry if that upsets you. |
