| largest saturn only scrap sell IN HISTORY! 81 THOUSAND LBS.. hey crew! hows everyone doing? been stopping by and watching the board but havent posted much, in case some of you hadnt realized melissa's taken over weekly email leaving me , with hopefully, a little more time to do other things....
this week we cleared some scrap shells of saturns, i do beleive if there was a record for the largest sale of saturn steel i just broke it! 51 SHELLS CAME TO 81 THOUSAND LBS.... whats that got to do with anything? well considering these cars were stripped down to crap, it shows that saturns use allot of steel in their unibody (space frame to you saturn-ites...)i was happy if i cracked a thousand lbs each at 3.00 per hundred i have a mighty fine check waiting for me monday morning.
even after the scrap, we still maintain the largest inventory of any saturn yard! we were bursting at the seems, it kills me to scrap ANY car, seems whenever i scrap cars someone ALWAYS calls for something off one that went! hjappens every time.
but with the anticapted move of march 10th (thats the offical date we close on the new house) i knew it was time to clean up....
speaking of the new house, got pictures for y'all, will be sending up to mike hoffman and brett over the weekend! i even picked out the name of our new ranch (actually its a cape cod) its going to have a sign at the front gate "casa de campo" in italian it translates to " house in the country" nice huh?
how was everyones holidays? mine sucked and i dont mind venting it! LOL
my godfather collie cutrone passed away, many of you know every memorial day i post a thank you to vets and my uncle (godfather) was a decorated war hero for landing at omaha and getting shot TWICE! i have his lighter which is very rare and inscribed D-DAY....
my favorite dog, girlz, my chow got killed on new years day, i had that dog going on 12 years.....
my cousin johnny colombo got killed in pa on new years day, the news trickled down through the family but apperantley it was a head on collision, maybe some pa folks have a link to any newspaper article or obituaray? id like to see some info as i dont talk to the colombo side of the family often (old italian secrets die hard and hold long grudges....)
on a good note we did sell the house on christmas DAY for 17k more then an offer we got the day before chrismtas eve, needless to say it was so hectic....
but to thrive you gotta persavere right?! nothing has ever come easy nor will it.
the end result will be me and my family in a MUCH less stressful enviroment at casa de campo and a spectacular new shop! 80x100 is no small shop, were talking 8k sq foot under AIR, yes i am air condtioning the WHOLE shop, screw this working in the heat and dirt like a dog!
the new shop will have a dedicated lift area with all my tools assembled under one roof for the first time in 4 years. a big portion will be shelving to accomadate all the saturn parts, we will maintain about 50 cars under the roof but the majority will instantly be stripped and put on shelves.
there will be two big offices, mine and melissas, mine for the work pc (the new house has a formal den where my laptop will be STRICTLY used for personal emails, pictures etc, matter of fact theres allready a new email address that you guys will get for personal hello's and such, after that, once i walk out of my building and through the horse pasture im LEAVING MY WORK AT 6 PM AND THATS IT... new shop hours are allready in effect mon to thurs ONLY, we are officaly closed fridays again ,now that doesnt affect anyone cause parts going out are all pulled by thursday now in order to be ready for fridays last DHL pick up. but i HAVE to take presure and stress off myself, one of the reasons i been sticking to tech and posts aimed at me. being anchored to this computer 24/7 has taken its toll.
medically im doing ok, there was officaly a heart attack the friday before christmas as you all know. this was my second one by age 37, obviosly owning a business since i was 21 has been long hard years on me. (like i said though, nothings come easy, i got where i am with 3200.00 and a sheer determination that i wasnt going to be joe clock puncher...)
they put me on some new meds to calm me down, well see how that works, and hey no prozac jokes! LOL (its actually called lexapro, aint feeling **** but its supposed to be calming me down...)
well guys, thats been my past two weeks... whats new on your ends?
patrick i see your not happy with working for saturn no more? dude go to a REAL dealership, car salesman make over 75k a year minimum at most dealerships, i know guys raking in over 120k a year selling cars, but not at saturn.
oh yeah on a parting note, i think i mentioned it, but there is two new business's opening up!
one, me and melissa have secured a store front on historic dowtown arcadia! we are opening a candy store! should i call it "joey'S bag of donuts?" lol im going to buy and sell model boats, since i have long ran out of room for my model boat collection and since the new store is smack in a antique discrict i think my candy store/boat store will do very well....this will be a weekend project...
second looks like im also going back to work hard core! BUT with someone elses stress, ive been offered a GM postion in a BRAND NEW main road large car dealership, the last one was moving 800+ cars a year, i was recomended and hunted down for the job and i think im gonna take it! ill go in like 10-4 4 days a week and see how it goes. the gentelman backing this has terminal cancer and i was recomended as the man that qualifys to handle the finances and make sure his wife is taken care of after he pass's, sad but if it helps his family then im game.

| Glad to see you're taking care of yourself, man.
Sorry about all of the crappy luck, but hey at least some good stuff happened, too.
So, if you have a candy store, do we get a free sucker with every Saturn parts purchase, or what? LOL. it'd be nice to have some hard candy to suck on and kill the time it takes to open one of them damn over-packaged parts you send out. |

| hey KC ! whats up man?! im gonna have some GOOD CANDYS, european candys blow away anything you get in the states! i bet you ask any military members that were stationed in europe or italy , germany etc theyll tell you, the average candy bar off the shelf is ten times better then what we get.
the big question is decideing where to put my TRAIN SET...
i got a few options...
either run it round the candy store, (but thatll be allot of work in a store i rent....) the new house has a horse barn and one side is almost as big as a full size two car garage, one side is slighty smaller, so im thinking of making that a game room with pinball machines my antique gas pumps and have the trians run round in there, or theres also a full wrap around two level, no three level deck that goes all the way round the back of the house and the pool, i might run them round there. if you recall a big part of the move was cause i was sick of picking up pine needles from the trains each weekend! lol
nice to hear from you, if anyone from PA can find some articles on ym cousin that would be great, kc, im going to hit up tech and see if anyone needs help, be good bro!

Just the usual stuff... Patching the rickety ol' Saturn back together when parts fall off. Other than that, I seem to be having a streak of good luck buying crap around town and selling it for pretty good profit online. Just the other day I picked up a brand new aftermarket cruise control kit for two bucks and actually sold the sucker for fifty. Yeah, i'm doing alright.
I hear ya about the European candy. between Swiss and German confections, I could become a very overweight man. LOL. I'm a serious chocoholic, you know. Being from a military family, I had a pretty abundant supply of that stuff as a kid. They always sold all kinds of good stuff on base that you couldn't seem to find anywhere else.
The trains are gonna go indoors, eh? Sounds like a good idea, I suppose. Pine needles ARE a real pain in the ass. uphere in the Northwest the damn pine trees are everywhere. I can't keep the damn needles out of my car, and they're damn near impossibleto vacuum up because they stick in the carpet.
personally, even if it's a lot of work, I'd stick those suckers in the candy store. It just sounds like a really neat idea to me. |

I cruise around the site a lot and keep up on trends and prices so when I find something local, I know whether it's something that will move and whether it will turn a profit. I've got a complex Ebay sales system that's taken me about three years to develop, but I consistently make money at it, so it's been worth it. |
