Default Last VW Beetle Rolls off Assembly Line

http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...lt-384x256.jpg

A Mexican Mariachi band plays as the last VW beetle rolls off the assembly line-Notice that is is the "old style" beetle...the last beetles being made will be this blue and a limish green color-the traditional 60's colors of the beetles to commemerate the last year of the Beetle...again...

Truely a sad day. What a classy car. I've owned 2, and it's my dream to get another.

Whether you're a fan or not, it was still the biggest selling and longest running car line ever produced.

Think about it: the first production models rolled off an assembly line in 1933, and the car has remained essentially unchanged. Sure, there have been upgrades as the years went by, but the basic car, and engine have remained fundamentally stable.

I'd say that's a sign that it was a pretty good car.

The New Beetle, on the other hand, is just a rebodied Golf. Not all that impressive.

<---- so old beetles were still made till July 2003? Or did they roll off an old one to commemorate the ending of the New Beetle, which I doubt, the new beetle is a great selling car.

Good, I hated those gay looking cars, new and old style both.
