| I guess I don't really see any problem with it so long as it eventually gets completed. If you see the thing 6 months from now and looks exactly the same, then I would say something. You gotta make some progress on it. I see old cars and trucks and like some imports around here with half molded kits and primer grey paint jobs and my friends laugh at them, and all I see is a work in progress. Now if it never move along from that step, then I will make fun. There's an Accord in my town that is black and has had just a front bumper from from a kit on it thats been half green, half white for over 2 years. Only other thing he has is a can and altezzas, that is a car that has every reason to be laughed at. |

| Well I don't have nearly enough money myself to modify car all at one either. 8-9 months is a long time though, if I couldn't finish or make progress on something in that amount of time I wouldn't even start it. I would at least spray paint something to make it look like I was trying. |

| Psssh hes right, thats why people make fun of saturn owners. Even yestersday i saw a kid with a saturn... One head light pointed at about an 80 degree angle and one facing foward. The door was a different color then the rest of the car...everyone made fun of him...talkin about "saturns as a whole"
But hes right, if i saw a SUPRA going down the street that had 2 bumpers, diff color doors, spinner hubcaps and a huge wing, i would think he was retarded too...But saturns will always be easy targets with people riding around in crap like that,..especially trying to race. |

| I read somewhere (this forum or another one, I can't remember) where someone said that if you shouldn't put a kit on the car until you are ready to paint. I tend to agree with that (with exceptions of working to make it fit, etc).
I can see where someone has a daily that they don't care about the looks of to replace a panel with a non-matching one. It's an A-to-B car and they dont' care. But someone who's been molding bumpers together obviously doesn't fit in that category. |

| if you're doing THAT much work to a car, then you need to get a 2nd car. I've had 2 lil $500 cars that were beaters...nothin to gawk at; strictly a to-and-from car. I've driven around in my car when it was primered also...BUT, I was constantly making changes to mine...2 weeks hardly went by w/out somethin else being done to it, so 8-9 months? I can't see it. If you don't have all the money to finish, that's fine....but don't start until you have a considerable amount saved up. There's nothing wrong w/leaving the kit in your basement/garage until you have enough saved to get it done in one shot. |
