| monkeyracing intake stuff Alrighty. I looked into going back into production on a very limited scale, and this time I wanted to use wacky new materials. I thought about building intakes using carbon fiber, but after researching things, it seems like it would be more of a pain in the ass than it's worth.
I'm going to keep poking around to see what I can some up with over the next week or so. There's a possibility of a composite, carbon fibre "look" piece, but I'll have to expiriment a little to see what I can come up with.
BTW, the website will be updated and ready to rock as soon as I have time.

| Y'know, I thought I had found the ultimate material when I was readin up on PVC. Building mandrels for clean bends is easy, and it's CHEAP. The problems are that it has a low melting point (bad for under hood) and when it heats to that melting temperature it releases odorless, toxic, carcinogenic fumes. (bad for you)
Crap. I'm digging around now looking at thermoplastics, and hardened silicone. Neat stuff, but how the hell do I form it to shape cheaply.
BTW, I once talked to a company about doing injection molded plastic for me (just like the Iceman intakes) and the start up cost would be around $10000. Yikes.
