I've wondered that myself, a FG hood would be more in my price range than a $700 CF one.

hey matt, let me give you some pointers about e commerce and newsgroups, it took 5 YEARS of being on the groups damn near 24/7 for any sizable increase in sales to show, for the fist 5 years i watched carefully and all the groups combined made up only 3 PERCENT of our gross yet took 60% of my time, no joke. but, obviously i enjoyed the groups cause as a business venture it sure wasnt paying off, it wasnt until last year i really saw an upswing with the groups now making up about 10% of our monthly gross (thats allot, thats about 3-6 k a month, from the groups, be it spoc pa, you guys kick ass! or any of the groups in general) so still considering the time involved compared to gross or net im sure i could spend my time better elsewhere
also, sometimes you gotta hit up other groups, rec autos for instance happens to be a great spot, usually i post there like once a month and it seems they are the most serious buyers, when they see a post and ask they usally come through and buy.
last, some things i didnt even know you had!~ for instance, its 8;30 in the morning here and i have a freind, a good freind, i just roused out of bed, why? cause he bought THREE wrecked vipes to make one, he has most everything but he DOESNT have a hood, why go pay dodge ,w hat is it, like 1600.00? anyways, he wants to know what the splitter is and what prices were talking
he owns a towing company so id apprecaite you giving him a shop discounts like i would do you. give him a good price and this guy is one to whip the bills out onto the table.
flip me a email at the site with the prices and explanation as to what the splitter is.
maybe ill put you in diret contact with him if he likes the hood price, then you can make him some other peices hes missing.
things take time man, i started the el saturno what, two months ago? i got big plans, some are easy like the diamond plate bed, but it takes time to gather up the funds, even for me, cause for me to work on one of my own projects i cant be making money on someone elses, but i might want some stuff in cf to you know!
also, when you write me im going to give you the biggest tip of your life. it will cost you about 500.00 but its how xrc and allot of people got to the top of the search engines, 90% of your business will come from being on TOP of your search engines listings, dont fool yourself., being on page 3, youll get no hits, and the nets not the same, its all pay per click now.

Custom I would just like to say, I am not at all crazy with carbon fibre. it's not my taste. being that I have a dark green SC1, I guess it wouldnt throw the color of the car off by too much, but I still don't like carbon fibre. Also, I don't have money for a new hood, tubo, or body kit, so I really do appreciate that your around making stuff for sattys and other makes and models, but unfortunately I am not crazy for carbon fibre.

Got a question though, with your hood, we have to first send in ours right? b/c I cant send mine in b/c this is a daily driver, and I have to get to work, also are you saying that this hood works completely off of pins? one in each corner? or does it still flip up like the stock one but pin down in the front instead of a latch? I need some clarification on this. I might eventually get a hood if I start getting serious about going into shows, but we'll see. $700U.S. is alot of money to a canadian, so it hurts our wallets alot more than you think.

Once again, I like to thank you for taking the time to develope stuff for our cars.

I think that everyone appericates you making parts for the Saturn vehicle. My suggestion is to give it some time, I think you'll see some good turnout over time, once you get past a few purchases of a hood or a different product, people will see how nice it was, and others will come back to you looking for more things. Also, I sent you an email.

All i have to say is that i am not going to send my OWN hood in to turn around and payy 700 bucks and bee hoodless while the other one gets here is that is the way it is. That is just rediculous if you ask me

ShtNgiTSince you would come pick it up then you can get a hood for $600 if you have more than one buyer. The hood pins arent too hard but you might want to have a hot rod shop help out.

Matt Serisouly...I could break it down to you guys and I really make just a couple dollars on this stuff. It is a rock bottom price for the quality of it. remember... it is way better than any APC crap or Fiber images hood.

JoeybagodonutsThanks for the tips.

The viper guy might have some luck w/ me but it is pricey. The hood would be in the $1000 range due to the width of it. It would have a seam in it. I HAVE THE 03 VIPER HOOD IN THE SHOP NOW and can get pictures of it!! It is a factory part and not even painted or used once!.. The splitter was a race only part and was for that purpose only. It sold for about $1500 and I do not have access to that right now.

As far as being out there.. I AM in magazines, web ads, I pay for search engine placement and all that crap. I know that stuff takes time...

Saturn sales are only 5% of my total... but I would REALLY like to see more from you guys since I have an open offer for people that beg for this stuff.

saturnd00dYeah... but that is what it is SUPPOSED to look like. Personally I love the more mismatched the carbon fiber to car color the better.

As far as the hood you can either give me your hood, pay me for a hood junked, or pay me for a hood mold locally here.

brettmeyersThanks... you have mail.

low_wgnOk... let me know where else you will get this done as good, cheaper, and faster...

matt, my freind is VERY interested in the hood, but you gotta give him a good price if you would, hes a junk man in the truest sense of the word, he picks up junked cars for free and scraps them, youd be amazed at what he gets, hell, maybe hes got some parts for other cars that hes scrapping you could use for plugs.
anyway, his name is grant, number is 941-(or 239, they just chaged our area code) 633-5024, he usally has a f-ed up message on there, hates dealing with the public ya know? lol, leave a message, tell him yuor joeys freind with the hood and see what you guys can work out.

I am not saying that your product is not the best out there or you service is slow. What i am saying is I am not about to pay 700 plus shipping to ship my OWN hood to you and be hoodless until i get the hood back. If i am going to pay that much money i want a hood shipped to me so i will have a toal of 2 hoods and not just one. That is what i am saying.

low_wgnSee that is the beauty of true custom work.

It makes me laugh actually... you think 3 weeks is a slwo turnaround on a hood? That is one week in transit here and 1 week back and 1 week to make the part. That is actually TOO fast.

When getting a hood, there are a few options:

Send me your hood
Buy me a hood from a dealer
Buy me a hood from a junk yard
Find a loaner hood from someone in your area
Find a loaner hood from someone in my area

So... you dont ALWAYS have to give me YOUR hood but if you have a custom piece that I do not have, then you would have to send it over.

Sorry about the harrassment then. I thought that was the only option. My bad. Also you said something about a custom something. Do you sell the carbon fiber dash kit by any chance?
