Default More Parts that no one here will buy

Ok, here are pics of some more parts that I can do that I am sure that no one will buy here. There are the side skirts and the trunk from an early 90's VW Jetta. Yet again 100% carbon fiber and yet again something that you can only get from me. The parts need to be trimmed, waxed, and need to install the taillights but you can get the idea. The trunk was about $500 piece and the side skirts are around $300. Near the price range of the XRC body kits but considerable more tricked out if you ask me.

Again... if you want anything just let me know. There are several posts about this in the past so for any questions in general please refer to those posts firsts before asking.

Not to knock you guys... but... I have not had one single person come through w/ a hood buy or anything else. I have sold 3 carbon fiber gas doors and 1 gauge pod in the past 3-4 months. Maybe none of you guys give a rat’s ass about it...but as far as I know, I am the only one around here w/ this kind of stuff and no one is taking advantage of it. I can sell to Chevy, Dodge, and VW guys all day long but when it comes to Saturns it seems like you would rather spend your money on a Thermal R&D exhaust than a tricked out hood. I know you guys have the money to buy turbo kits and even two kits (from one guy I talked to) so why isn't this selling?

Go figure... oh well... As of right now, as soon as I am done w/ the first gen gas door I will no longer do any R&D on Saturn projects for public sale. This means I will no longer pursue or develop any more products unless someone comes to me w/ cash for a project. I will make a hood for my 99 SC2 over the winter along w/ other parts but I think I am just going to keep them to myself for a true one of kind Satty the no one can replicate.

I am really sorry that you feel that way, since I know I appreciate you being around. As for me personally, I had emailed you awhile back asking about a carbon fiber overlay for door pillars and taillight portions and didn't recieve a response. It really sucks to see someone who has so much skill and talent leaving, and I can understand why. Winter is never a good time for performance parts, since it is too cold to really work on the car for a lot of people (myself included), so I assume that many people are like me and are holding until the snow thaws.

sc2_ctThat is VERY odd. I always respond to emails within 24 hours. Please check your outbox and if you still have it verfiy the address it was sent to and forward it on to me.

I totally understand the winter issue... but I have offered these back in August or before I think. Seems like it will never get off the ground so since this seems like a lost cause I am just going to move on to something that will make me some money.

I don't have it in my outbox anymore, but I sent it through clicking through the link on your site, and I'm pretty sure that it went through. Who knows with email these days though, it could have gotten caught in a spam filter on one end or the other. I'll give you another email.

As to the winter issue, I can see where you're coming from. When you make a part, do you keep the mold? If so, I hope that you continue to have pics up that people can contact you about. You have always been very supportive of the scene, and for that I thank you.

To everyone else: Get a hood whether you need it or not!!

Very interesting... I still stumble across a few people that tell me that they emailed off my site and no response. I don't understand it... I know for a short time the mail was getting delivered to a guy in Puerto Rico... so it might have been in that time frame that you sent the inquiry in.

When I make the part I plan on its usage. If it is a one time custom job I crappy mold that can be used once. If it is a low volume "keeper" piece then I would make a better mold. If it is a "production" piece then I would reinforce the mold for long time use.

I have tons of pictures of other crap in the shop. I have in there right now made up in carbon fiber:

fuel cell
03 Viper hood
03 Viper splitter
Jetta Hood
Jetta trunk
Jetta sideskirts
Jetta console
Corrado Hood
Corrado console
S10 Fender
67 GTO Hood
New Blazer gas door

and more

Alright, no joke, I want a carbon fiber hood, but it has to be after February 1 to get it. Sorry for any delay, but I am in the process of purchasing a 2001 engine and a turbo kit for it.

Now, I hope that you do not stop making these just because people are not buying your product. Maybe your marketing skills have to be better, like from what I've seen you selling on Ebay. If you want to sell your product, get better marketing. Advertise more and tell everyone about it and what the benefits of having one are.
Do not bash the public for not buying your product, this will not bring you any more sales and maybe hinder your future success in this business only a matter of short time. Do not rush and be patient, things will come to you. But please do not disreguard the fact that your fellow Saturn-maniacs have other more important things to buy than a CF hood next to what they feel is a "Must" for their vehicles.

Famous quote-"If you make it, they will come."

ShtNgiT I see you point BUT...

No matter how small the progress I make on something I always post on this board and others about new products.

I do Web advertising on this board and others.
I do magazine advertising in HCI mag and others.
I do ebay listings to reach people that are not on the message boards.
I do local events to promote anything new.
I do frequent updates on my rarely visited site.
I give out free decals.
I give out free pens.
I give out tons of business cards.

If you have any other marketing ideas I would like to hear them.

As far as being patient... lol... I have been around LONGER than XRC, LONGER than MOS, LONGER than Twistec... how much more patient do I have to be?

I understand that the CF hood is not for everyone but damn!... I see them on ever other car out there. I know you guys blow $4K on a turbo and $1.5K for a XRC body kit... why not a CF hood?

I may be interested after the first of the year, for a CF hood for my '93 SC1. Depending if I have the cash? Do your hood use the stock hinges and all?

Hey Custom,

I've been slowly saving for a hood, just taking awhile to guarantee the money. I know yours runs at 700 dollars and i send in my hood the way i want it made. its a 95sl1 btw.

How does yours compare with xrc's? they are 50 dollars cheaper and I havent checked on whether they need my hood or not. I'm planning on picking up the shaker scoop in the spring along with a cf hood. Should I just cut my metal hood for the shaker then send it in rather than cutting the cf hood afterwards?

if you could answer this, it would be appreciated. thx

A first gen gas door. will it be aluminum or CF. Just wondering cause I may be interested in that product. I would also like to say that some people may totally be interested in stuff for their cars, but not everyone has the cash for a turbo. I mean hell, I want rims for my car like crazy, but I dont wanna dish out 800-1000 for a set of wheels and tires, Id rather put 75 for fog lamps, or 50 for neons. Small bits at a time. One of my most expensive projects to date has been my clear rear lighted sidemarkers. Total cost with tools was $120.

I am not ranting and being pissy, but I am a first gen SOHC owner (1994 to be exact) and I can say that very little is available for my car as far as parts and products. Such as intakes, its either use Monkey's instructions or going to Twistec for $250. While any other Saturn owner has about 5 or 6 good options. Pretty much everything on my car is unique to it and or I have talked to other first gen SLx owners and gotten ideas and techniques from them. I feel kinda like the first gen SLx's are a cult at least for SOHC, and we trade off ideas. I know of others that have some of the stuff that I do on my car, but they live all across the nation. I can garuantee you no other Saturn in CT has the combinations I have on their first gen SOHC.

I am also sorry to hear your giving up, but if the business is not there, I understand completely. Good luck to you on your customizing of your car, the best way to go is to find a combination or fabricate yourself so you can be unique! Let me know about that gas cap, email me at ClutchRider7@hotmail.com when you get pics or details
