Default Mr. Jack Ass Sues Over TV Show 'Jackass'

Man Legally Changed Name To Jack Ass

LOS ANGELES -- A guy who legally changed his name to Jack Ass is suing the company that owns MTV, saying that the TV show and movie "Jackass" is ruining his reputation.

Mr. Ass was born Bob Craft. He changed his name in 1997 to raise awareness about drunken driving after his brother and a friend were killed in a car crash.

Court papers on the Smoking Gun Web site say Mr. Ass wants $10 million in damages for the effect he says "Jackass" has had on his reputation.

ok first of all, if he changed his name for a GOOD CAUSE why "Jack Ass"? I mean seriously he's got to realize it's gonna cause alot of Joking at his expense.

And when someone legally changes their name to Jack Ass, shouldn't they realize it's gonna hurt his reputation in it's self?

ok correct me if I'm wrong, but what a Jack Ass.
If I was the judge I'd prolly laugh.

We are a SUE happy country. and it's just STUPID.

Anyways I really would like to know the guys thought behind changing his name to Jack Ass and how it pertains to drunk drivers. I just don't see any logic behind it. So If anyone digs up the info on that post it for me.

well its a good way to break the ice into drunk driving....."hey, how did you get a name like Jack Ass???", well i changed it after my brother died in a car accident......honostly it still makes no sence to me

Yeah I just don't get it. I've tried figuring out his logic and nothing came to me. All I can think of is boy he's a jack ass.
