| My greatest shoe experience (plus a pic of me!)... Well,
For all those who know and those who don't, I collect shoes..Jordan, AF1's, AF2's, Air Max's, etc. Anyway, there were 2 shoes that came out on Saturday...1050 pairs limited to only 4 NikeTowns across the country. I got to Chicago at 4 a.m and stood in line for 6 hrs.to get them. I thought I would be at least the 10th person in line or so...there was 57 people ahead of me!! They had sleeping bags, blankets, lawn chairs, etc...it was crazy!! It was really cool 'cause I met a bunch of people off of another message board that I post on..it was great meeting everyone face to face.
To see the pic of me (and the crowd of people): http://pub175.ezboard.com/fniketalkf...ID=25131.topic
(I'm the black guy w/the ENYCE coat and coffee in his hand)
By the time the store opened at 10 a.m, there were 159 people in line; NTNY had 345 people, and NTLA had 228
The shoes were $120 each...some say I'm crazy for waiting that long (even though people waited from 10 p.m the night before), but in 2 days, this is what they go for now: (one of the 2) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=15710 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=15710 |

| ^^not necessarily. Like anything, shoes (depending on what you buy) are an investment, and I've proven that numerous times. Just like art work or anything else that appreciates in value, so do certain shoes..not everything is produced in mass numbers and are available anywhere. In a few months, if I should fall on hard times, I can sell about 20 of my shoes for $500+ easy, for each of them. |

I'll admit I have some old Jordan's (and still WEAR them) but to me shoes are like cards. You buy stock in the player (Jordan in most cases) and hope that demand goes up based on player performance or demand for that specific product.
After seeing so many limited sports cards (like 50 or less made) in my monster collection fall through the floor, I can honestly say that sometimes it is good to strike while the iron is hot. If you do actually plan on selling them, now might be a good time while the public interest in them is so high. Later from now, people will want the next hot thing... not last yearâs model. |

As far as the demand goes, for this particular shoe, it'll stay pretty high...there are certain shoes that were only released to mom and pop stores, and generally those are the ones that start out high, but fall once demand drops, but there were only 1000 pairs of these made worldwide...tons of people weren't able to get them. A few of the shoes from the NIKE artist series released in the early spring/summer '03 still fetch anywhere from $350-$450, depending on the model. |

| 4 AM? That's dedication man. Not much can get me somewhere at 4 AM.
Hey, a collection is a collection. People collect all kinds of stuff and it's usually just so they can enjoy it or share it with friends. They know how much their stuff is worth, but will probably never part with it. I'd have to be in a really hurtin' status to get rid of most of my random collections of stuff.

| what I would do is find out when the next years model is oging to be announced and try and sell about 2 weeks before that
OR keep them vac-sealed and never opened and keep them for about 10 years then sell them when they become a collectors item |
