| my hoes got new shoes.... no, i didnt buy my wife a pair of nikes, LOL after 70 THOUSAND miles, yes 70k on off road tires, i was a little tired of turning up the radio to tune out the road noise, so last saturnday when we were working the candy store we sent her in for some new bridgestone duelers, nice rain tread, excellent for our upcoming florida (ie, drenched) summers, whats really amzing though yo, is 70k on off road tires? only rotated twice, i did shave them when new, shaving is rare these days, very few people even do it, its where they spin the tires on the truck, or car to about 60 mph, then run a lathe across them, once you have this done your ruined for life cause even brand new michelins never feel "quite right" shavings the bomb...
anwise these DO ride sweet, went down form a ridiculous 31 size to a 265/60/16, nice quiet ride, got all my power back, im assuming my gas mileage too, im watching and logging this tank, truck used to get 16 mpg, not to shabby for a 300+ hp LT1. (with 4wd) then with those tires it went down to a meager 11 mpg overall, never could i pull more then 12.8 even on the highway. hopefully shes back up over 15 mpg (yes my tanks connected directly to my wallet, 31 gallon tank, premium only due to superchip, your looking at close to 55.00 bucks per fill up closer to 60 at some places now that sucks... (reason we keep at least one satty in the driveway always...)
wowsers, what a diffrence! truck rides WAY better, i got a very strong sidewall, 10 ply, actually a heaveir duty tire then what was on there but far smoother riding, you dont realize how much stress those big wheels and tires put on there till you go back to stock!
ahh and to start my week, i got a tooth pulled yesterday, now down to, oh about 15 real teeth, nice, my medications just ruining the hell oiutta them...
i also went downtown to make sure our new shop meets florida windload, it tooks the builders 2-3 WEEKS TO MOVE A STINKING GARAGE DOOR.... sigh...
we passed, amen.
been ahwile since i browsed general chat, anyone else get any new and exciting upgrades recentley?

| You got some great mileage out of those tires Joey.
I put a roof mount antenna on the SL2 a couple months ago but haven't gotten anything new recently but I will be getting those few items from you very shortly. I'm getting ready to start my interior and redoing it in black and blue along with repainting my car a WR Blue Pearl color that is used on the Subaru WRX's since my car was keyed a couple weeks ago. I can't wait to get it done. I just feel like everyone is staring at me when I'm out driving the car with the key marks all over it. |

| hey jegs, dude check out my blue car on my race page, that was an oldsmobile blue with like 9 drops of house of colors candy purple added to it
the downside to a custom paint job? EVERY damn nick and scratch had to be totally repainted, the whole damn car! i dont care if you kept the orignal can that you mixed, it wouldnt match, ever, so that car pictured was painted at LEAST 8 times, no ****, i have pictures of it with stipes, without, with the wheels painted to match, with bbc's on there, damn that and my 83 300 hp 280 zx turbo were BOTH painted TONS of times, more then i care to recollect, and people ask me, ever think about doing custom again?! LOL
our new mechanic is all balls to the wall wanting me to race again, im like yeah lets catch up with the WORKLOAD and see how ytou feel about sacrificing your weekends, nights, etc to having a custom race/show car!
yeah i got some KILER mileage out of those and **** all, they werent a name brand realy either, some off the wall brand but they DID ride smooth the first 50k...

| That blue Z looks pretty sweet .
Yes custom colors can be a pain to match up. A friend just had to match up a custom purple with both violet and maroon pearl in it so he could paint his body kit he just put on his car. It came out pretty damn close. The pearl colors in it as they shift light makes it look almost dead on as the rest of the car. I was thinking of doing some graphics when I got it painted but I figured if anything happened to it it would be tougher to get it fixed right so I will just stick to a solid color.
I don't blame you on not wanting to get back into the racing/show car scene. It takes alot of time and hard work especially when you work 40+ hours a week. I've been helping a friend out almost every night and even the weekends as we try to get his car finished up and ready for the show car season and it gets very exhausting at times but it's something I enjoy doing so I guess it's worth it in away. |

| They just started production of the Redlines within the last week or two and should hopefully be hitting the dealers by the end of May. |

| What really sucks is when you go to help said friend finish their coil overs, the parts aren't ready. LOL J/K! Jeff, just let me know when ya'll need me.
And, hey Joey! I'll be needing a motor from you. Melissa already e-mailed me back the prices so I'll be sending you some green soon.

We will try to get those mounts drilled out in the next few days then I will give you a call. I have to go get the other suspension parts for the rear tomorrow and hopefully get that put together (along with the bumpstops) :P |
