| My plan for Monday. Well, Monday morning at 9:00 AM I have an appointment to remove the neighbour's dog hair from her interior, again. This will be the second time this week. I'm sure that the back seat is already covered in smelly golden retriever residue.
By 10:00 AM I'll be hitting the road. I'm going to make personal appearances at every used car lot that I possibly can to try to sell some detailing. I figure that when I find interested businesses, I'll let them have one free detailing just for promotional purchases. They're gonna pay for anything more than that, though.
Hopefully I can find a little business tomorrow and bring home a little cash. Wish me luck. |

| hey man just some advice dont give out freebies. they will try and get deals all the time from you and delay paying you. Basicly they wont take you seriously as a bis owner. I would offer a 75% discount you should still cover the costs of your chemicals as they are expensive. I used to detail for 13 lots and once I gave a freebie they expected all kinds of hook ups and got real ticked when you said no. so I would offer discounts and offer the employees of the dealers discounts but no freebies. give due dates for bills to be paid and charge late fees salesmanagers are shisty! they will delay paying you if at all possible. I would go to a print shop and get some bills made up ones that let you have a copy and them too (carbon copy)
I am just trying to help ya I ran into these problems when I was detailing.
good luck man

| Good luck bro! I detailed for the chevy dealership for about a year, at times it was a lot of work but other times it was nothing but fun. Difference is that they had me on the pay roll.

| Well, so far my plan is out of whack. i just finished the neighbour's car. It turned out she needed a lot more than just a vacuuming. I ended up washing the exterior and fully detailing the interior. So, It's 12:30 now... I'll be leaving at about 1:00 to go search for business.
In regards to not giving out freebies, well... I may or may not do that. I'm of course going to try not to. I might use it as a last recourse on an undecided customer, but we'll just have to see.
Oh... I've been using the Invisible Glass from Stoner to clean windows with, lately. I have to say that it just impressed the hell out of me. Ordinarily it takes me a good fifteen minutes to get all of the glass clean on my neighbour's Taurus. Her dog likes to slobber and snot the back windows up. This stuff cut through much faster than any of the other products I've tried. It only took me about five minutes to get all of the glass clean this time and damn if it ain't clean! Big improvement over fifteen! If you guys haven't tried this stuff yet, go out and buy it now! It works great! |
