you know. i stared at this peice of trash for an hour before i became so discusted i turned it off. during which time i noticed very poor charictor development, a very vague setting and no apparent rising action or conflict.

it had no hint of a plot whatsoever.

beyond that i think i smirked once in an hour. i laugh more often than that watching "the operation" on discovery health

what is it about this movie that makes you people see it as something it isn't?

heres a couple of people who've said it as i could not:

its one of those dumb comedies like Road Trip and Freddy Got Fingered. You gotta enjoy those movies to enjoy Napoleon Dynamite

Oh come on now... kip dating Lafawnduh? And then acting black?
The time machine?
Oh god.. the STEAK to the face? come on.

"Welcome to Rexwondo."
*in front of napoleon* "...peace out."
*napoleon in his room* "Welcome to DQWON'S DANCE GROOVES! Are you ready to get your groove on!?" "Yeees."
"Do the chickens have large talons?"
Kip typing that hilarious shpiel to that chick online, him talking as he types?

True.. there's not much plot, and the situations are mostly completely random and pointless, but hell, they were funny to me.

It's mostly how the guy talks. The script isnt great, but he makes it funny, just the way he says "idiot" or "gosh", etc... And you can't deny the hilarity of his dancing at the end.

Maybe you had to have contact with a lot of guys like that, or have them around a lot in high school, which I did, and was one of (albeit not that bad) til like 9th grade... Hence why I find it completely hilarious. Like playing tetherball by yourself all the time.

For those who saw it and also watch Reno 911 regularly, was Kip in the movie the same actor who played the killer debbie was dating in that one episode, where he invited the officers to his house for dinner?

now that you mention it, i think he was the same guy from reno 911.

malice....it wasn't an action movie or anything like that. it was more of a "slice of life" film. anyone having taken a film study course in college would appreciate this movie.

this is one i'll end up buying.

peluca was an indie film. napoleon dynamite was based on that. when you have the paramount, fox and mtv films logos at the beginning of your film, that's when it ceases to be an indie

This movie was, without a doubt, the WORST-done movie I have ever seen, with no recognizable plot at all. But, I've never laughed so hard in my life. This movie is definitely worth seeing.
