| need advice: brakes: ASAP Hey all. Need any advice ASAP. A friend of mine just showed up at work with 4 smoldering wheels. It seems that all 4 of his brakes were at least partialy applied for his whole drive to work. Here's the dirt.
4 very hot sets of brakes, fronts smoking
No extra heat at the master cylinder
No extra pressure built up in master cylinder
Brake fluid a little grubby, but flowing
Brake pedal stiff
No real prior occurance of this
I'm guessing there's dirt jammed somewhere in the valve body of the master cylinder.
Any thoughts?
Jim

| 92 Hyundai Excel. I know, Hyundai-that explains a lot of things, but my bud here is stuck, and I figure I can get him out of this jam he's in.

| many cars have modulators also yimmy, these are prone to get stuck, it doesnt sound like a sticking caliper cause that would only affect one, id go for something in the master/booster or find the modulator.

Anyway, talked to my mechanic, he figures it's possible one of the wheels cylinders in the rear brakes pooched. I guess we'll find out. The tow truck's on the way.
Thanks y'all.
