Default Next Car

Well once the Civic is paid for I will either keep it as a play toy to work on occassionally.

but I am convinced right now that my next car will be a WRX STi unless for some reason my job gives me ridiculous cash and I would go buy a Mercedes.

I'll never buy a Mitsubishi as long as I live... Unless I can sell it almost immediately for at least twice the purchase price. That goes double for Eclipses. I'd much rather have a WRX, but I'd rather have a SVX with a manual transmission over the WRX...

my dad bought an eclipsein 2000, and its still in perfect running condition, just the same as the day he bought it. He hasnt had to replace anything but the tires.

Not too shabby! I've just taken a major disliking towards them since an ex-slut/friend/pleasurer ditched me for some guy who made slightly better money, was (probably still is) one of the biggest posers around, and thought his beat down 96 Eclipse RS was "pimp" because it had the following...

Direct quote from an email addressed to him...

Not only is it uglier than sin, I've seen more powerful Geo Metro's.
Not only that, but he ended up replacing the transmission within a few weeks of buying it, then after a month or two the engine was replaced. The last I heard, the engine once again needed replacing. On top of that, his friend (95 Talon ESi) had his 5 speed transmission literally blow apart. I was told he backtracked down the road and picked up parts from the internals, gears and such... I'm not sure how valid those statements are, but I do know his car was in the shop for a few days for repairs.

If anyone is interested in reading the rest of my textual bashing of said Eclipse owner, feel free to ask, I'll hook you up with a copy.

Im with him, I am not a Mitsu fan at all. they are quick but I wouldnt own one regardless. I am not really worried that the STi is a second or two slower cause the STi can still whip most of the other small imports out there anyways, no more bothersome Si, Spec V, etc owners bothering me. It will be nice to have a car I can cruise with and not worry about proving myself.

yeah I was disappointed w/ mitsubishi after they came out w/ the latest eclipse...it's ugly, slower than molasses in January, and handles worse than my cavalier. Crap + Crap + Crap = [fill in the blank]

no dipsh!t; they've got about the same specs:

EVO VIII: $28,987
--271hp
--0-60: 4.8s
--1320: 13.4s
--0-100: 12.7s
--breaking from 60mph/100mph: 108ft/194ft
--skidpad: 0.88 g

WRX STi: $31,000
--300hp
--0-60: 4.9s
--1320: 13.3s
--0-100: 12.6s
--breaking from 60mph/100mph: 111ft/193ft
--skidpad: 0.88g

in terms of specs they're near-identical cars.
