pwned. i was lifeguarding at the pool i work with (colonial park area - devon manor). clouds roll in, a few people leave. wind picks up...a few more. drizzle for about 2 seconds then BAM it all goes to a wet hell. i feel ya, i've left mine open all nite during a storm. luckily my co worker shut my windows for me while i was on the chair. good luck with the cleanup!

hell brenda, try living in FLORIDA! in the summer, every day like clockwork, the thunderstorms roll in, many days tremendous ones, they look AWESOME if your home sitting there watching them but you dont want to be stuck in them.
we get stalled almost daily while we wait them out. ft myers, where the yard is, is the lightning capitol of the WORLD more people get here by lightning then ANYWHERE now, personally i think my town, lehigh gets more lightning, but since were sparsley populated theres less people actually getting hit. on my 1 and 1.2 acres theres at leas 6 trees within 100 feet of my house that are gutted from the inside and black from being hit.
to drive in it sucks, many people from out of state pull over, if you dont have your flashers on you cant be seen from fifty feet behind you (melissa's volvo had a cool feature, it was a rear fog light, when you hit a button it lookd like a right brake light was on , kinda looked stupid but on day i saw a silver merceds go by me on alligator alley, now that car blended right in, but he had his rear fog light on and damn! you could see that light clearly for about 1/4 mile in the downpour!
if you like thunderstorms or work indoors, florida is the place to be, but to try and work in it daily, well that sucks, i carry two sets of clothes everyday in the tow truck cause i get drenched so often.
