| A question for parents of teen age drivers First off I am not bashing people who can afford to buy their kids a new car. Why do people pay a **** load of money to buy theirs kids a new car, and not teach them how to drive it. Case in point, today while at a stop light, a kid, maybe 17 at oldest, pulls up next to me in a new accura. He looks over, and starts to rev his engine. I try to ignore him, but he continues to rev, so I give him the thumbs up. As the light turns green, I easily ecellerate, and go about my business. I look back, and the kid is sitting at the stop light, trying to start his car. He went to drop the clutch, and killed it. All I got the say is, if you are gonna drop a **** load of money on a car for your kid, at least teach them how to drive it. Now that I have ranted, I will leave in peace.

| Working at a dealership I see this stuff daily. The thing that annoys me most is seeing daddy's little girls get a new Celica GT-S. She'll never be able to drive it or control it and will probably die in it. Do you really need to buy your 16 year old daughter that just got her licence yesterday (and like most women, still won't be able to drive 20 years later anyway) a fast and expensive car?
My uncle is a cop in southington (one town over from me) and he's told me quiet a few stories about new drivers in manual cars rolling back/stalling on hills and getting into accidents or rich boys putting their M3s into trees.
Its disgusting and stupid. But as long as there are rich, stupid parents; there will be rich stupid kids driving fast expensive cars.

With me doing road rallies i have to drive good and be alert at all times. There will be that certain percentage of woman that suck but don't forget that percentage of guys who think they are all that and a bag of chips, and the next thing you know he is in a tree or sitting still cause he forgets to push the clutch in to shift. |

| i think im lucky.
my father said it was up to me to buy my first car. i worked my ass off to buy the $500 lebaron and pay the insurance, i was so proud of it and i loved that car.. till the one day decided to do donuts with no snow in a front wheel drive car..
my dad still doesnt know exaclty why the car broke, but i think he assumed i did something stupid..
i went to him and asked to borrow the money to fix it with a guarentee of when it would be paid back.
and he was like your going to need a car for college and he bought me the satty and told me that it was a gift and that he didnt want me to pay it back..
so idk, im lucky and spoiled i guess

These usually come back in a week or two tottaled and the kid either dead or in the hospital. |

Some people just THINK they're good drivers cuz they go fast.... | Eddie- Sorry if you felt unsafe but I think I was going fast because I knew the roads really well. I do appologize for that. I will go about 50mi slower next time, or i might just do the speed limit . Btw the corn stocks would of saved us.
Ricerocket(sorry I don't know your real name)- Just because I go fast doesn't make me a good driver. If you ever noticed that when you are used to the roads around you, you tend to increase your speed. I would never say that I am an absolute good driver unless i am nationally certified by a good driver company or some some thing like that . I do know my limits and when I reach them I do back off so that nothing does happen. Hopefully someone understands where i am coming from. |
