I run an Associated TC3. Freakin great car, really. Its handleing is great, very neutral. It didn't take long to tweak it in. The shaft drive system /w sealed diffs makes for low matainance. The spur is open so the occational rock gets caught between the teeth, not really a problem. The RS4 with its open diffs and belts tend to get more debris into the gears, but is still a good car. My racing buddy has one of the older models, it handles good, but takes more effort to drive it fast. We both run 10-12 turn motors.
For fun we put a 2 speed tranny on the RS4, 10T motor, and 8 cells. That thing could hit 50mph. You definatly want to be in an open area to run it.
I perfer electric to gas. The electric cars handle so much better. There lighter, lower ctr. of gravity, a lot cleaner, and have kick ass punch out of turns. Down side is run time. On a hot motor you'll get about 10 minutes per batter pack. Gas cars can be fast, but there not as nimble. Then you have tuning issuses to keep them running. Very weather dependent. Upside is run time, got gas, it'll run. |
