Default Re-Did my intakes

gotta love speed density!

anyways I am going to hook them up to a pully system that will let me raise it above the bumper.

They are at the same angle and height now. I took that before i did final touches!

Pete

Pete, you are brilliant!~

Added bonus: Gets air from closer to the ground, where it is cooler and therefore more dense!

Joey,

No, to change the lights on your truck you would have to change the front fenders (they are cut differently to fit the lights) and several parts attaching to the radiator support (the lights mount differently) if not the whole radiator support it's self.

The cab it's self is unchanged so you can bolt the fenders and whatever else right up to it. They tried to change the look of the truck without making any major structural changes so the light cutouts, and the way the fenders flare are the biggest difference.

The mod would also cause the front and rear flares around the fenders to look different which would be goofy (see a few trucks like that) all things considered it is a lot of work for very little pay back.

hehehe-sweet COLD air...I'm planning on hitting home depot sometime this week to get some pvc pipe to attach and lengthen my intake so I can draw more cold air in. I also need to buy a new filter while I'm at it-hoping for some more horsies

What about in the summer when the sun is pounding on the blacktop. You still think it's cooler closer to the ground?

yeah, but when you are moving at 50MPH and more, it is still getting cold air.

Yes pete, and the venturi effect at 500 mph is surely providing additional cooling also!

You must have a background in aerospace!

explain how that works please....hot coming off the pavement is still hot moving at 0 or 50.

Your engine doesn't know what windchill or a heat index is....it may "feel" cooler b/c you're moving, but it's still hotter closer to the blacktop.

PVC would not be the choice material for that.....i have found an article about the dangers of PVC use near hot objects and when it starts to melt it releases toxic fumes, heres an exerpt from an article i read about it
Quote:
New studies are shedding light on the potential health hazards from PVC. Phthalates, a group of chemicals that are mixed into PVC to add flexibility, continuously leak out of the material and into the surrounding environment. Children absorb these compounds when they suck on toys or crawl on vinyl flooring. Swedish researchers recently reported that male workers in PVC plants have a risk of developing a form of testicular cancer six times that of the general population.
not trying to scare you away, but you might want to think before you use it
