Default The reason why I ordered a TKT motor from Joey

This is the long term result of the time I hydrolocked my motor in deep water. Learn from my mistake and DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH DEEP WATER. And yes, that big shiny piece sitting in the hole would be the remains of a rod.

DAYUM Ed

You drive that bad boy hard often?

Sorry to see that, but from what you've described for your new motor, sounds BadAss to me.

Well, I never blatantly abused the car (like trying to hit redline or burnouts) even when I took it autocrossing, but I didn't take it too easy on the car either. I really believe the original motor would still be working if it hadn't been for the quart or so of water the intake sucked in. The motor still ran just fine (although I had to adjust the idle up) for over 3 months after the fact, but the internals were just too warped and damaged by the water to keep going for much longer. My baby should be resurrected before too long, JOEY

Hopefully Joey'll be able to hook me up.

On Saturday night the diff pin went out as I was trying to pull into UDF (couldn't go forward, tranny fluid was leaking all over when I stopped rolling back into their first enterence).

Saturn watn's 1800 for a new tranny (with discount), our parts manager doesn't think they make re-mans for my model year yet (we'll find out for sure tommorrow).

I'd love to get a tranny with the diff pin and the PG installed in my car along with a new clutch.

Just gotta hope that I can work with some of the techs there and convince the folks for Joey's tranny.

Stinks to hear about your tranny and ouch... that's a lotta dough. If I ever have money to play around with again, I'm going to do a manual conversion with a Quaife differential and maybe swap in the 5th gear from an MP2 if it's feasible and not too cost prohibitive. The D-Street Prepared class wouldn't stand a chance if I can ever pull that off

Oh yea... just for the heck of it, I tried starting the motor recently, and it still runs! At least for the 2 seconds before I turned it off. It sure does make some strange noises and shake a lot though hehehe

LOL

Well, the good thing is that I can take home used cars off the lot till I get my ride fixed.

For now it's a Grand Prix GTP (2000). Fuuuuuun car.
