| Rents need to shutup! Here are the questions I get constantly,
Whats this about yoru master cylinder??
Where is your radiator?
Why dont you take it to a shop?
Basically they are being retarded and I cant stand it. I was like, I saved $200 by getting it this way and the master cylinder needs to be checked, thats all. My mom is going on about the car seizing cause of the radiator, I was like, I am driving it to school and work ONLY and I keep checking the radiator and fluid and keep it topped off. So whatever... |

| parents just never seem to understand. My parents HATE when I spend money on my car, and I explain that it is my hobby, but they just don't understand no matter how I tell them.
HOWEVER i do know that parents are just looking out for you and trying to help you save money when you can. Although I hate it NOW, I'll appreciate it in the future.

| I dont think they get that I am saving money by doing this. They dont like it when I touch the car myself, they think everything brakes on it. Im sorry I dont own a new car or get one every 3 years like they have for the past decade, but I like to work on my car and figure things out on my own rather than having someone else do it.
My gf even gets mad when I sit there for half a day trying to figure out if something is wrong and what it is, rather than taking it to a mechanic. I like doing it, feeling around, working on stuff, and for as mechanically inclined as I may not be, I think I could be if given the chance. |

| I agree with you Whelan, I like that idea too, trying to fix something yourself. Problem is, for me, I don't have the tools, nor the expertise to fix cars. I can do the basic stuff, but beyond that I'll admit I can't do anything. I am good with electrical, so I can work on stuff like lighting, neons, stereo and stuff like that. things like blown head gaskets, fried piston rings or whatever, all that stuff goes to my mechanic. I do, however, like your mentality that you like to challenge yourself by trying to accomplish the task first. That is the attitude that wins in life.

| Well, you can't learn how to do something unless you take a huge risk, dive in there and figure it out. Yeah, there's some stuff that's best left to the pros until you've figured it out, and some stuff that's just best left to pros period.
I think the thing that your parents and girlfriend don't understand, Whelan, is that you actually enjoy playing with your car. I call it playing because calling it work takes a lot of fun out of it.
Keep at it. Enjoy what you do. Get filthy and greasy, and have fun.

| Nah, I know what your saying though, I do like to challenge myself. I am more electrically inclined as well and can do basic engine stuff, but anything for appearance modifications I am awesome at, body work, things like that. That is my trump card. |

| My dad actually likes my mods, he finds it interesting on what simple things you can do to a car to make it run so much better. Now he is trying to fabricate some kind of cold air tube for his tracker. He usually enjoys helping me with mods on any of my 3 cars.
