Default revere glow gauges help

Well I am blessed with the SOHC that has a digital odometer as opposed to the mechanical odo. There's a problem. No one makes reverse glo gauges or even indiglo for the 98-99 SOHC's with DIGITAL odo. Instead they have a ton of them for the mechanical odo. I was thinking it over and over. I came up witha solution but don't know if it can be done. Need help.

Would I be able to buy reverse glo gauges for a 98-99 DOHC saturn, and slap them into my SOHC and have the dealership recalibrate the needles for DOHC readings? The only thing I would see wrong with this is if I sell the car, the redline says 6500 whereas mine is at 5500. Otherwise, could this be done? opinions? suggestions?

Why would you have to recalibrate the guages? The DOHCs just read 7K RPMs and have a 135 odometer. I'm sure they would both read the same.

yeah, matt is right. You'd have gauges with markings that you couldn't reach. Just remember your 5500 RPM redline

True but are the spacing of the speeds consistant with the sohc guages. Yeah his read to 110 and ours (DOHC) read to 130 but they both use the same space to read to their max speeds. I would say it would need to be calibrated but would call your local friendly saturn dealer to see if they can do this.

More than likely the saturn dealer won't touch them. I called 2 dealers around here and they both said they don't mess with the inside of the guages, they just replace the clusters.

actually to recalibrate the needles, isn't that done by their software? I thought they could alter the computer to read DOHC readings instead of SOHC readings, kinda like they can adjust tire size for correct speedo readings.
