Default Saturn is an offical Sponsor of HOT IMPORT NIGHTS

I just got a notice that Saturn is now an offical sponsor of the 2004 Hot Import Nights.

Which is good, cause it's about time we got some shine!

But I'm perplexed. A domestic car company is the sponsor of an import show... anyone else think that's weird? Maybe I'm overthinking it.

Maybe riced out saturns will start appearing on Ebay for 10k!

Maybe I could get one of those HOT asian car models to slink on the hood of my car! :P

oooh bacon!

1) it's too bad you have to put a half naked woman on your car to get people to look at it

2) saturn has been mingling with plenty of ricy companies lately. IE the APC sponsored drag car.

The APC SaturnMotorsports Ion is not part of Saturn or GM... totally seperate company.

Not sure about the HIN venture... I looked at the site and saw nothing... searched Yahoo... saw nothing... hiechimu, do you have any more info... links would be great...

http://www.hotimportnights.com/ BIGGUPS To the SL2 MASSIF!!

and Malice, Who said I need half naked women to get people to look at my ride? I WANT half naked women on my car... BIG difference homie.
You got a problem with half naked women? No problem, I'm sure you can get a half naked man to model on your car. :P

and there are only a handful of companies that offer aftermarket options for saturns, and even fewer distributors. If there were more competition for market/share dollars would increase production of current parts, new R&D for different parts (adjustable cams, chips, body kits) that would be saturn specific, not parts off of an eclipse or one off customs. If there were more companies, it would generate better customer service, which is often the key factor when the prices are similar.

If you pick up any tuner mag, the only saturn ads are for SMS, yet you can find at least 20 who have honda parts. I want to see more domestic companies get in the ring, and I applaude Saturn for having some balls to support a growing car culture movement.

So yeah, it's great that APC is doing something with saturn, but I still feel like I'm getting the short end of the deal when it comes to quaility, quan-titty, and price.

good points there...props to Saturn for gettin involved, but there's so many "go" (or those who at least with they could) and so few "show", and the ones that are "show" will only get a body kit and some 17's...H.I.N and bigger shows like that don't **** around; even I'm scared to compete at a H.I.N show

yeah not a lot of people get a saturn to modify it ineither show or go catergorties when I got my ION it was just a car that was fun to drive, I knew people modified cars but I wasn't to into it. Then I was like wtf I'll put some red neons under my foot wells for looks turn a few heads, wired it all up took me about 2-2:30 hours at like 11:00 at night finished boy that was fun.

So I gather up some money get a AEM CAI install that thing in like 3 hours with the crappy tools I had at the time. Ever since that I was hooked now I could trade in my ION get 10K for it trade in get some car and pay 200 a month or so but I love my ION so I modify that thing up and turn lots of heads now.

It's good saturn is getting into the performance scene but at some point you have to ask to what cost I honestly don't want as open as a market as civic I take pride in the fact that I have only scene (in over a year) one other performance based saturn around my town I've scene 3 riced out ones, 1 was an ION and shed a tear. A few more companies would be nice I would have like a nice Apexi exhuast system made for my car (not the universal fart cannon) but hey we got HKS so that works, All in all I like the way it is now makes the good saturns stand out even more.
