Default Schoo Project (Preliminary Business Plan) customiZers, long.

OK well this is long, I copied and pasted from my word document. Its the first part of our business plans due tomorrow and I just wanted to let some if you are interested at all see it. Let me know what you think of it so far.

customiZers

Step 1:
Customizers is determined to bring a new and optimistic light to the Saturn performance group. Offering a wide range of innovative styling and power increasing products from intakes to turbochargers, and LED lighting to racing seats, we are dedicated to making your Saturn look and perform its best. Whether you are looking to turn heads, or for showing others up on the track, we are your one stop for aftermarket Saturn accessories and bolt-ons. Customizers is also determined to get your business and keep with by offering return visitor discounts, sponsorships, and magazine car featuring in many top national periodicals.
Customizers has no affiliation with Saturn Corp.® or the Saturn brand name.

We do stand for the innovation, workmanship and distribution of aftermarket products for Saturn’s. We believe that Saturn has been a neglected and misunderstood name in the tuner performance boom that has hit in the past two years. Putting value the fact that the company can bring significant attraction and interest to the Saturn brand. Targeting the 17 to 26 year old male and female middle to upper middle class population who are interested in bringing either style, or power gains to their Saturn. The product range will cover all of the following including many extras to be announced later:
air intakes, spark plugs, spark plug wires, twin radiators, dual cooling fans, exhaust systems, dual exhaust manifolds, high output alternators, throttle bodies, shocks, springs, strut bars, motor mounts, turbo kits including intercoolers, blow off valves, downpipes, etc., HID headlamps, xenon bulbs, LED’s, neon’s, racing seats, wheels, crystal and altezza style taillamps, clear sidemarkers, M-3 style signal mirrors, mesh grill inserts, pedals, shifters, and short shift kits.

The services included in the business will be the selling, distributing, and installing of all of our products offered, except wheels. But we will showcase a wheel, tire package to be installed by Town Fair Tire for a discounted price depending on rim and tire type. Tech advice for those who wish to do it themselves, and possibly a future club for those who wish to bring their Saturn’s together for meets. By offering this variety of ideas we satisfy our customers drive to make their Saturn unique and capable of putting out a performance that is competitive with today’s import cars no matter what the budget.

Because the Northeast will be the location for the shop, it will make Customizers the only Saturn specific tuner shop outside of Ohio, California, and Florida. The value that can be gained by customers would be discounts of up to 15% for return visitors, free and friendly staff technical tips and being able to fulfill the multiple needs of each individual customer. Creating an account with each new invite, we can keep track of what you have done to your car to date, and offer advice as to the next modification to undertake based on your budget. Also being in our particular area we are keeping ourselves outside of the saturated markets of California and Florida. Putting us on the map in a spot where the aftermarket scene is coming around and about to explode.

Step 2:
Core competencies of Customizers would be our innovative products. No longer would Saturn owners have to go through extensive modification of parts to fit their cars, we will carry such items that fit without any extra cutting or glassing. Altezza taillamps, LED sidemarker kits, how-to pamphlets, M-3 mirrors, and the discounted wheel and tire packages in conjunction with Town Fair Tire.
The target market for this business will be the 17 to 26 year old male and female middle to upper middle class that live either at home or at school. Basically anyone in this age range with any amount of income either large or small who wish to make their Saturn different from what the mainstream dealerships can offer.

Step 3:
Internal weaknesses and strengths of the business would best be separated into the two categories. For weaknesses inside the company, our name would not have immediate recognition and our ability to gain customers in the beginning will be an uphill struggle. Our advertising campaign may be minute and too unprofessional if we do not budget ourselves in the store development. For our strengths, we will have a good, knowledgeable staff and excellent connections with other shops and companies across the nation dealing with Saturn performance. As well as the managing abilities and the faith and dedication to spend as much time as needed with the business to make it successful and our ability to gain customer satisfaction and reliability once they have come to us.

Step 4:
External opportunities and threats as they are called can also be easily divided into the two categories. Opportunities range from our location in an area with little intrusion from other Saturn only companies, the used car sales market with less and less imports becoming available. With the tragic but still possibly gaining trend to buy economical cars during the war times, and the seasons of Spring and Summer where people are more active in the area, summer jobs give them more money to spend. Schools are out across the region giving us the time to plan our showcase with the younger crowd the winter before our opening. Threats are very small in numbers with the competition from import tuner shops that have a much bigger following, the winter season where people tend to stop modifying their cars and bunker down for the cold months. And the recent outflow of people moving either West of South to warmer climates and less crowded spaces.

Step 5:
The key factors such as site location near a main road and most likely near the shoreline where many tuners gather to show their cars in the evening hours during the warmer months would be ideal. The size of the building and type of building, focusing on a garage connected by the sales store. Having a knowledgeable staff between the ages of 18 and 26 years old who have pioneered new ideas and products. And keeping connections with the customers by gaining feedback, new ideas they may have and keeping track of their progress as they modify their Saturn. The final huge factor for our success will be keeping the customer, if a mistake is made, the problem will be rectified hassle free and promptly.

Step 6:
Competition would fall in the ownership of imports of other domestic cars that may offer a larger more widespread network of tuning. Having more funding to advertise, and the Internet, which may host multiple competitors offering Saturn aftermarket products with shipping available across the U.S. This can be counteracted with our own website that will allow shipping throughout the United States and Canada.

Step 7:
Goals of the company are of course to gain a profit, have a better recognition of the Saturn name and to gain customer loyalty. More specific objectives fall in the line of prompting a possible conjunction with Saturn Corp.® to offer more products for newer models such as the ION and VUE. A huge personal objective for the company and myself is to gain respect from local shops and acknowledgment for striving to bring a widely unexplored field of Saturn performance tuning into the Northeast.
