| So what's with the bitter hatred on this board for Neons? Have any of you people have ever even driven an SRT-4, or even a Neon R/t (DOHC)? Or do you all just look at it and say "it sucks because it's a Neon"?

| I like any car that is nicely tuned and that the owner spends time and effort on. Attention to detail is what counts -- regardless of the car that is modified, there is always something to be respected about a nicely done car.
The SRT-4 is pretty quick and would definately kill me without the nitrous, but the R/T isn't that hot a car without some work done to it. Both are capable cars, and they both can be done up nicely, although I'm not a big Mopar fan myself. |

| it's the appearance i dont like. other then that I like the car. Dodge needs to get rid of those cutsey headlights though. I still see the OLD slogan for the car. "HI" |

| I still remember those commercials, Hi, how they tried to be like a Beetle with the daisy and used a sunflower I think.
I dont mind them, I just think they are to cutesy. And Im a lil hard edged that they picked Neons to mod out before Saturns. I have a much better lookin car. |

| I like Neons, but I hate the way Chryco brought them out at first. They had so many defects (heads, gaskets, brakes, ECM sealing and location) in the first two years that they should have recalled the lot of them, and paid everybody back.
That said, the newer Neons are good cars. The SRT4 is a rolling wet dream for pretty much any compact enthusiast. I kinda like the cutesy headlights, as that was part of the cars original character. That whole "grown up" thing they did was silly.

| I like the SRT-4, 14 second 1/4 mile times stock is badass, but I'd never own one. Basically, neons are pieces of **** and everyone I know who owns one or has owned one had lots of problems with them. That's my reason for not liking them. |
