Default SPOC-CA -> RACE TRACKS!

Does anyone know of any Race Tracks or Drag Strips anywhere along the CA coast that allow public racers. We're looking for a location to hold the first ever SPOC-CA Meeting and we're looking for a nice place to race our awesome cars!

You might check out LA County Dragstrip, Pomona, or Carlsbad seeing as you live near LA and depending on where all of the other member's are driving from.

I think they set up races at some stadium (Qualcomm I believe) in San Diego also for the local racers to go to to keep them off the streets. I've heard of other Saturn owner's going out there to race.

Then there's Sears Point and Sacramento but they're quite aways north.

We're shooting for somewhere between LA and San Fran.

I'm not sure if there's any in between there or not except Bakersfield and that's not near the coast.

Look's good. I'm also looking for Race Tracks, not just drag strips. I'm talking about honest to god turns and stuff.

In that case you have Laguna Seca up in Monterey right on the coast. Sears Point just north of San Fran.

Then you also have Willow Springs which is north of Palmdale out in the desert and also Thunderhill which is about 1 1/2 hours north of Sacramento.

All of these are great tracks but I'm not sure how they are when it comes to public use. I know Thunderhill and Sears Point use to have open track days but it could get expensive. They use to charge like $150 for 1 day which included a driving class and then laps with an instructor in your own personal car. I'm not sure if any of the tracks would just let you out there by yourself.

Oh yeah there's also Buttonwillow just to the west of Bakersfield near I-5.

Awesome! I did a search and found all of the tracks you listed. Buttonwillow looks awesome- Full day>$75 Car/ $75 Driver or $90 for a half day. Thunderhill is a little out there but looks awesome! It's also a little more money to drive there. I'm still looking into Laguna Seca and California Speedway. Those two places I have to call to find out.
