Default Stick it to the man day - May 19th.

It has been calculated that if everyone in the United States did not purchase a drop of gasoline for one day and all at the same time, the oil companies would choke on their stockpiles.

At the same time it would hit the entire industry with a net loss of over 4.6 billion dollars which affects the bottom lines of the oil companies.

Therefore May 19th has been formally declared "stick it to them" day and the people of this nation should not buy a single drop of gasoline that day.

The only way this can be done is if you forward this e-mail to as many people as you can and as quickly as you can to get the word out.

Waiting on this administration to step in and control the prices is not going to happen. What happened to the reduction and control in prices that the Arab nations promised two weeks ago?

Remember one thing, not only is the price of gasoline going up but at the same time airlines are forced to raise their prices, trucking companies are forced to raise their prices which effects prices on everything that is shipped. Things like food, clothing, building materials, medical supplies etc. who pays in the end? We do!

We can make a difference. If they don't get the message after one day, we will do it again and again.

So do your part and spread the word. Forward this email to everyone you know. Mark your calendars and make May 19th a day that the citizens of the united states say "enough is enough".

How will this ever work. So the days before and days after May 19th they have record gas sales.

They then run short on gas due to everyone buying it around the same time, thus lowering supply. They raise prices, and they never return to the level they were at before.

They only way a strike against gas would work is everyone stopped using it, or really cut back on driving. That would keep demand lower than supply and lower prices. I'm so sick of these stupid strike against the man days. They won't work in a comidity that everyone "needs".

I'll believe this when I see it. Quite possibly one of the largest idiotic attempts at getting some attention.

i have heard in about a week saudi arabia will come up with oil and help drop the prices down. they say prices could drop down to like $1.50 or less. now i think thats a huge drop and i cant wait to see this supposed drop in prices. i will give a month to see prices drop quite a bit. if not then gas companies are taking advantage of us. prices better go down to $1.50 or less.

EXACTLY! Even if you don't buy gas on the 19th, you're still going to have to fill up a few days before or after, rendering the 'stick it to the man' day useless. THINK THESE THINGS THROUGH!

If you really want to hurt the oil company via the gas pump, you have to use LESS GAS, not just put off buying it for another day.

Use public transportation wherever possible (especially you, new yorkers! Don't ***** about gas prices when the subway/bus system will take you almost anywhere you need to go). Carpool if you have some friends at work. Drive the saturn to work instead of that monster SUV you may have. It may take a little effort, but you only get what you put in to these things.

Um, fuel refineries operate on a weekly schedule, so that won't have any impact except that a small percentage of gas purchases will be offset by one or two days. If it has any effect, it will merely be longer lines at the gas stations for a couple of days, and look funny on the books.

If you're really upset about gas prices, your only real option is to get a vehicle with better fuel economy, contact your state legislature about lowering taxes, or to tell your elected officials that you want them to vote to drill for oil domestically rather than relying on our enemies good nature to keep your gas cheap.
