Default Thinking of getting a pet.....

Ok since Pat works long hours and i'm all by my lonesome 5 out of 7 nights (im talking til 10:30pm sometimes later!) a week we have been thinking about getting a pet to keep me company.

Only problem is that our apartment complex does not allow dogs or cats. Sure i could smuggle a kitty into the place - but Pat is not to fond of CUTE, CUDDLY, LOVABLE kittens.

So i need everyones help - what is a good apartment pet that i can actually interact with, without being afraid of getting it lost in the apartment (ie-hampster) or being smelly (ie-rabbits) OR with scales (you get the hint)

*****Please no durty answers people - i know some of you are thinking naughty things.......

Boa constrictors cuddle up with you *reallly* nice and snug! And they're so cute! Ahh, turtles are another, although they can be high-maintainence. I've always wanted an iguana too... Walk that mean long-tailed biznatch down the street and show people what's up.
