Default Time to show off my new ride!

1986 Mazda RX7.

Long story short, guy wanted $1200 for it, I told him no, then found he forgot to close his eBay auction and I got it for $685.

50k-ish original miles. Engine, tranny and clutch are all very good. Compression is a little low, but for a 20 year old car, it's not bad.

Going to be cleaning out the interior this weekend, maybe installing that spoiler, fixing the rust spots, getting it licenced, titled and insured...tune up, make it drive-able.

Other short term plans include:
Custom 2.5-3" exhaust
Removing emissions crap
Perhaps some sort of intake

Long term plans...

The engine's going to go eventually...I can get a Mazda Turbo II engine shipped from Japan, with everything needed for a swap for just over $1000.

I'd love to find a local RX7 shell and use it for parts...this is the base model, the other models had an LSD rear end and 5 bolt hubs with 2 or 4 piston brakes.

Long story short, I have no desire to spend any money on the Saturn ever again. I've probably got 6-8k in this car, and i'm N/A and nitrous'd...woohoo, 14.5

God, 8k into this car and I could be in the 12's or quicker...lol...plus it's so much cooler.

Went to the DMV with the forms I thought I needed, and they told me I needed the title...crap crap crap...I don't know what to do now.

I was furious so I went out and did some donuts...yes!

I think I can title it in another state and transfer it over...

Or, because it
-is over 20 years old
-modified from original specifications
-still recognizable as the original vehicle

I can register it as a home make. "street modified". I don't think I need the title...we'll see....

It doesn't have a title. It started out life as a track car at road america, then it was bought by an older dude and restored, and then I bought it from the guy who bought it from him. No title.

yeah my sonata was bought in philly and transfered to jersey for like 20 bucks, it's quite easy. then again the title was with the previous owner and verified mileage etc.

Transferring a title is completely different...that's easy. I need to create a title and then transfer it.
