Default will....exhaust...


will an exhuast leak cause you to loose hp....cuz the gasket blew in my new headers and its leaking....and my car feels like its a little slower....is it my head or will i loose a significant amount of hp....if this helps this is what i have done to my car...hotshot headers, throttle body, intake, nology plug wires, flow master exhuast....so from and exhuast leak would i feel it or not...thanks

yes u would feel a decrease in power....i used to have an 83 bronco II and i was pulling a hill and then my car got real loud and didnt feel as powerful so once i got to the top i pulled over and looked underneath it and saw that the exhaust blew apart either right after the cat or right before i cant remember it was like 2 yrs a go this happened

Agreed......I had to cut the muffler off my 85 Bronco II and well the whole exhaust needed to be replaced because of leaks throughout the whole thing, causing quite a noticable lack of power.

On my old 91 SC2, I had the flex hose all torn up, and I had a major back-pressure problem cause of it.

Yep, you will notice it. I had a problem with the header gaskets on my camaro blowing alot and I could always feel when one went, could hear it to.

yeah i definately can hear it....that annoying ticking sound....what is back pressure...thanks for all the input...

You will lose torque but gain HP the power that you feel that you lost is the torque.

How would you gain HP from a blown header gasket?
