Default Would you go to a Performance Rebuilder?

This very well be a situation that some of you have had:

Say you've been putting a lot of time and $$$ into your car and everything is custom... you have a great set up going and you love the car. Time comes where you see that the engine is getting up there in the miles so you know you'll either need to rebuild the engine or buy a new car.

Would you take out a loan and go out and find a professional performance shop to rebuild your engine and add a few things to the list of performance parts? Say you wanted him to port/polish, cams, rollers, bore, intake, throttle body, the works...

or would you find a new project? Im guessing that if you love the car you'd rebuild. But how much of a hassle is it to find a great professional shop and get the work dont on time with the setup of your choice?

Anyone here have an experience with this? I'd like to hear some stories...

well if you had to take out a loan to rebuild it, then i'd just buy a new car.

If the car is in good shape and has little/no damage, then it's cheaper to fix the car rather than buying a new one. If you buy used, you still won't know exactly what could be wrong with that car too.
Thats what happend in my case. I can't afford a new car cause of my house pymnt, so i'm fixing this one.
If you want a good rebuilder, i recommend Joe at sales@6thplanetusedparts.com . He knows his stuff and will tell you that straight out.

If you really like the car keep it and get a rebuild. It would be a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
