if he is using a sloppy home made hack, your mouse will move on its own sometimes when you arent moving it, you will notice some of the things the attacker is doing i.e. screen blinking indicates the opening of folders or running programs under your nose.

if you need more info or help PM me or whatever.

the money spent was probably a test to see if he had complete access of your credit car, if you hadnt canceled in time, major money could have been stolen.
I've never had the mouse move but for some reason the monitor has started blinking on my wifes computer. Never did that on my pc and hadn't been doing it on hers but lately it has been happening.

I'm gonna try to call Microsoft direcly and see whats up.

If the monitor seems to be flickering, there is deffinatley hacker activity, like i said, he could be searching all the files on your PCs looking for notepad, or word files with your card/personal info. he is probably setting up other ways of connection, backdoors for him to spy on you.

OR your monitor is just going out, but that rarley happens they last for 10+ years, lol.

Microsoft has a hacker hotline, for situations like this.

Yeah this monitor is barely 2 years old, its a flatscreen LCD. I haven't had a bit of problems out of it until just recently.

I'm on the phone with microsoft right now.

How do I go about finding out who is behind this IP address? I have the subnet mask, ip address, and physical address. Whom do I contact or what do I do?

well you might be able to have microsoft trace the IP adress through his internet service provider, or get a physical address from it, eventually get his address, name, info etc.
This level of theft could lead to an FBI investigation, anyone who does this will get jail time, even if it is just a prank.

Who do I need to call at microsoft? I talked to someone earlier today and they just told me to get a security key for my router or something. I can't get in touch with Linksys becuase they are "experiencing high volumes of call" due to some promotion crap.

well you might want to search online for some help against hackers, personally i have never experienced this, so other than microsoft or linksey i have no clue on who to call.

Here is a link to an excellent firewall that i use and is really hacker proof:

http://www.download.com/3001-10435_4...323.html?idl=n

You can buy it for $20 and get a ton of extra gadgets and whatnot, but i use the FREE version and it is excellent and blocks all major hacks, viruses, spam, and info collectors. Set this up on all of your online PCs. delete the hackers network links, and i hope it works for you.

Download these other helpful FREE tools and regularly scan your computer:

Anit-virus: http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/

SpyBlocker: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-...ml?tag=lst-0-1

ALWAYS update any and all of yuor firewall, spyblocker, antivirus software ASAP.

well i dont know what DSO is, but "exploit" does not sound good at all. anything spybot picks up that you know is not used by any of your programs is alien, should be erased, then immunize your computer to what it found.

the links to the programs i gave you should fix up your PC pretty well.

Ok, before everything gets blown out of proportion. The hardware firewall built into your router will work fine. If you feel that you need a software firewall, then have a look at sygate, or zone alarm, they are pretty well the best on the market, But remember that it is impossible for anything to be completely hacker proof.

Second, make sure that you have at least WEP enabled on your Router. Better yet use WPA, as it is much stronger.

Monitors flickering in no way means that you have a hacker on your system. More than likely the other network you are seeing is just another network in the building.

Have you made purchases online with that card? Always make sure that if you purchase anything online, that you never send the card through email. As it is not secure. They only way you should make purchases online, is if the site is secure. You can usually tell that by looking at the top left, and see if it says https, and in the bottom right it there is a lock. Never put your card into a form unless you see these.

Microsoft will not do anything for you. What you should do is find out where the company got your information from. If there was a purchase online, then they should have a log of their IP. Send that IP to your local law enforcement, they should be able to track it.

Post the person's IP on here. I will see what other information I can find.
