Give me the $3000 you spend for the dual 2.0GHz machine and I'll build you a dual Xeon PC running a Serial-ATA RAID-0 setup with 3GB of 800MHz RDRAM running Slackware that will pound that thing into the ground and leave enough left over to buy some more parts for my car.
Congrats to Apple on finally coming out with a competitive processor, but they did it about 2 years too late, since the G5 is scheduled to be completely eclipsed in the next year. It's great to see a faster PowerPC platform processor though, since it will do wonders for the CPCI controller cards |
I have a Apple PowerBook G4 with 1gb of ram, dvd-r, 15" 16:9 display, 64mb ddr video card and 60gb HDD.
Your comments are ignorant and overwhelming with skewed opinion. OSX is one of the nicest Operating Systems around, even the best in the computer world will agree.

It can have all the power in the world, but it doesn't change the fact that it's operating system is worse than useless and there doesn't appear to even be a *nix distro available yet for it.

uhmmm, Yellow dog linux. But why would you want linux when OSX runs on darwin, and darwin is a direct port of one of the most stable and robust operating systems around, FreeBSD.
I own both an apple and pc, I can say an equally amount of bad on each side, also for good. I beleive some people should actually have experience under osx before they shout their mouths about how **** apple is.
