Default 97 s- series computer questions


ok I was told if I do any performance mods to my motor I have to buy a custom computer for 1k bucks. is that true??? also how much performance can a stock computer handle before its over powered?? also is it possible to reprogram a stock computer to handle any amount of power??? thanks

umm thats wrong . the only that most people will tell you is to disconnect your negtive battery terminal so the computer has to reset.

Hahaha, who told you that?

Do lots and lots of reading. The stock computer doesn't know how much HP you're making.

Hahaha, who told you that?

Do lots and lots of reading. The stock computer doesn't know how much HP you're making.
the technition at saturn said stock computer can't handle bigger injectors. and also doesn't know what to do with the timing if you raise the compresion and port the head, it would through codes, which then it wouldn't pass emissions. this technition has a 10sec SC2, but its the OBD1 system. I don't know if thats all true with the OBD2 system.

well the guy showed me all the receptsfor all the parts. he has 12k bucks in the motor.custom intake and turbo kit, 150shot of nitrous. has full roll cage and everything. I'll try to get some pics of it from him. its NHRA legal up to 9.00sec.

you only need a custom computer too get the FULL amount of power from your mods
you will still see some gains without computer modifications
