Default Cam Gears

Ok so Head rebuild is coming closer and closer as I finish my last couple of Exams..... So the question today is. I've read that as you mill the head it retards the timing 1 degree for every .010. Well I'm milling it .030 so do I need to by cam gears to counter act the retarded timing, or will it be fine, or is there a better way? Oh and does anyone happen to have pre 96 valves laying around?
