Default Coughing?

Alright I have tried almost everything to get rid of this cough when I accelarate.

It wasn't there when I took the motor out and switched the trannys cause I blew my old one out.

I've checked everything in my repair/service manual and I've even had the computer codes read and I can't figure out what's wrong.

Well this Cough you are speaking about........ is it like

Anytime you press the gas pedal?

I gotta '00 SL2 that when she was Stock had an Auto-tragic Tranny. About 6 months ago (and after blowing up like 5 Trannies) I had that
Auto-tragic swapped out for a 5 Speed, but I still have the Auto PCM.

Anytime I press the gas pedal, I get a momentary stall/hesitation. I have been told that the only way to rid myself of this is get a Stand-Alone or Manual PCM. Sooooo, now I'm saving up for a used/Junk Yard
Manual PCM outta a 3rd Gen S Series where that car had A/C & Cruise Control. Then I will get it Re-flashed to the '00 SC2 Federal Standards and all should be good.

If you are speaking about some other type of "Cough", then I dunno.

Yeah it is whenever I press the pedal, but it stops when I get over 4k rpms. It does it rarely in 1st gear also.

What you have sounds like what is happening to my car but it had a 5 speed, and I switched it out for another 5 speed.

I still have the same PCM in it, but would that be causing the problem?

Oops

I thought in you initial Post that you switched Trannies...
meaning like me, you got rid of an Auto-tragic Tranny and "switched" it with a 5 Speed.

If you had a 5 Speed and just switched it with another 5 Speed then I dunno what the prob you have. What computer codes do you have ?

If the crankshaft position sensor is malfunctioning you need to get it fixed. My friends mustang did this and he always complained about a jolting sensation whenever he would hit the gas pedal. Mine does this currently.. anyhow he reset his Crankshaft position sensor and it fixed it completely. Just came back later.
